“Patriots’ Day”
A
pril 15th in any given year would pass as normal with everyone paying their taxes and enjoying the running of the Boston Marathon. This year that would not be the case. This year’s running was marred by 2 explosions leaving 3 dead and over 180 injured at the finale of this year’s race. Three days later a mere eight and a half miles away in Watertown Massachusetts the terror continued as an MIT police officer was killed on it’s campus. The officers death spawned a shootout and subsequent manhunt of the two lead suspects linked to the Patriots’ Day bombing. The aftermath produced one suspect dead and the other in custody on the evening of April 19.The entire Denovo/75ive staff like the rest of this nation is proud of the heroic city of Boston and for their performance in the face of true adversity. Please join us as we too say “Boston Strong.”

General Cigar is proud to introduce FOUNDRY boutique collection created to amplify the artistry and romanticism of premium cigars
F
oundr y is the brainchild of Michael Giannini who was determined to create a new and breakthrough brand. I have to be honest when you see this cigar, you can’t help but be intrigued. The Cayley is a 6 1/2 cigar with a 60 gauge head, 56 gauge near the band, and a 43 gauge foot. Shaped and inspired by designs of early “flying machines” the Cayley is quite unique. SiFi buffs and Readers of Jules Verne or H.G. Wells are well acquainted
with such imagery. Now cigar smokers can be too. A cool metal gear comes curiously fastened around each individual cigar band to cap off its stunning look. Visual considerations aside it is a fun smoke more or less what one would call a one of a kind taste. The core of Foundry’s foundation is built around a proprietary eight year old wrapper developed by General Cigar and dubbed the H-47 Pleno Sol. The filler is a collection of five proprietary tobaccos from four different
countries, each aged between three and six years. Smoking the Cayley was just as interesting as the look. There is a very unique wheat taste that is a mainstay throughout the smoke, while also delivering a light and some what buttery sweetness All and all I found it a bit mild for my personal taste but I could see myself enjoying the Cayley paired with a beer like Negra Modelo. The wheat taste of the Cayley and the dark brew and dry hop flavor of the Modelo would
provide a smooth mellow taste. With a price tag around $8 there are a ton of smokers who will love this cigar. It’s different and unique enough to fuel many conversations. The line fits well within the medium to mild taste range cigars and it wont break the bank should you deside to try this smoke.

The four-cigar collection is accessibly-priced, and will make its mark on tobacco retail if by looks alone.
Foundry features these new cigars: Wells (6”x 50, SRP per cigar is $7.95); Lovelace (6 ¼ ” x 54, SRP per cigar is $8.45); Talbot (5” x 60, SRP per cigar is $8.95) and Cayley (6 ½” x 60 x 56 x 43, SRP per cigar is $9.45).
The essentials XIKAR DryMistat® Tubes DryMistat’s® patented Crystal Humidifiers in the new black and clear tubes are now available exclusively through XIKAR. The humidifiers fit easily into any humidor or storage container and use XIKAR’s two-way humidification system to maintain 70% relative humidity at all times. This keeps cigars in perfect storing & aging condition. The humidifiers are absolutely leak proof. How it works: space age plastic tubes allow humidity to escape through micro pores while holding water inside. The crystals will shrink slowly as water evaporates over time. Simply refill the tube with XIKAR propylene glycol solution to recharge the humidifier.
