QUEENSBURY — Public comment on an agreement that will bring to two new hangars and a storage building to the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport will be accepted next month, with potential for negotiations or amendments to the document. An original draft of the lease agreement allowed Rich Air, owned by Rich Schermer-

horn, to construct the buildings, removing two older building with the newer structures, at his own expense. At the end of the contract, the properties would revert to ownership by the county. A portion of paving, however, was to be conducted by Warren County, with an estimated price tag of $120,000. Grant funding is available, leaving the county to foot five percent of the cost. The application process, however, is nearing an

end and whether the county would receive an award is not yet known. Without the benefit of a grant, the county would be dependent on the 7.5 cents per gallon earned from sales of fuel per gallon. Some quick estimates by supervisors discovered it would take approximately 17 years to break even on the paving project, sans a grant, if the county pays for the paving. The current contract leases the property to

Rich Air for a term of 20 years at a cost of .29 cents per square foot. Rich Schermerhorn did not return a request for comment. Glens Falls Ward 3 Supervisor Claudia Braymer suggested the board leave open the possibility of a clause in the contract to recoup some or all of the paving costs if grant funding is not awarded. Public comment will be accepted at the July 15 Board of Supervisors meeting starting at 10 a.m.
