NORTH CREEK | Johnsburg’s designation as a federal Opportunity Zone is expected
to brighten the town’s long-term economic prospects, local officials said. But individuals and enterprises have yet to take advantage of its provisions, Johnsburg Town Supervisor Andrea Hogan said last week. “I’m very hopeful this federal designation will inspire people to take a closer look at Johnsburg. We offer a very high quality of life here,” she said. “If you can live and work in same community, it’s best for everyone.”

WARRENSBURG | ‘Tis the season to be social and in Warrensburg this weekend, local residents will be enjoying a convivial meal together in a treasured tradition. The Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Co. is holding their annual free Senior Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 18 at their firehouse at 18 Elm St., and local residents are encouraged to participate, Fire Co. President Kevin Geraghty said this week. “Those who’d like a hearty meal and good conversation with neighbors, show up on Sunday,” he said. Enjoyed annually for 17 consecutive years by 225 to 270 residents, the dinner is renowned for its socializing as well as appetizing food. The menu this year features roast turkey, homemade stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, winter squash, vegetables — and desserts created by the fire co. members and their spouses. » Dinner Cont. on pg. 10
