Letter from the Mayor
MAYOR’S MESSAGE
Gerard Hudspeth City of Denton Mayor
As the summer comes to an end and we move into the fall, I want to express my thanks and gratitude for your continued support of our Parks and Recreation Department. Summer is a busy time for our parks and facilities and I was excited to see the community ready to rejoin us for all of our summer programming and events. I am especially proud that we were able to successfully reopen our aquatic facilities on a full-time basis for our residents to enjoy this summer, something many cities were not able to do. You, the community, through your continued support as members, participants, volunteers, and users, make it possible for us to continue to provide a high quality of life for our community.
The Parks and Recreation Department is working on a number of exciting projects this over the coming months including new playgrounds at Cross Park and the completion of a new Denton Tennis Center that will host twelve tennis and eight pickleball courts! Project details can be found on the City’s website at www.dentonparks.com.
This fall, I encourage you to take full advantage of all the amenities and benefits our Parks and Recreation Department facilities and programs have to offer. Whether your interests lie in exploring nature and fitness, special events, cultural arts, or sports and aquatics, there really is something for everyone at Denton Parks and Recreation.
