to “Build Back Better” after convention. was honored with an induction into the CPA Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame Luncheon on Saturday, September 23. In addition to working as a respected professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Porter was a cherished member of the Denver metro area community before his untimely death on March 12, 2023. DUS Publisher, Bee Harris, was joined by Porter’s sister, Edmonia Morney Jackson, in a sentimental presentation of his noteworthy achievements and contributions. The convention closed with an awards ceremony recognizing the best in advertising, design, and reporting across eight classes of competitors during 2022. Since the beginning at the Alabama School for the Negro Blind in the late 1930s, the band has persevered through seven decades to become one of the most recognized and decorated roots music groups in the world. To celebrate the holidays, The Blind Boys present standards from their Grammy-winning 2004 Go Tell it On the Mountain and 2014 Talkin’ Christmas albums.
