COVID-19 recent advertised events in the Denver Metro area have been cancelled or postponed. Please continue to support local restaurants that are open and providing carry-out and delivery service.
Some businesses are adjusting and providing virtual events.
Let us know what they are! We appreciate your continued support and look foward to sending event information again as soon as they become available. Please be safe during these challenging times and do your part to help our city, state and country rid us of the Coronavirus...
Thank you
Greetings, We hope you all are doing well, healthy and safe. Needless to say, these are very difficult times that the world is enduring, and for those adversely affected by the Coronavirus we send prayers, blessings and condolences. We send sincere thanks and deep gratitude to all those on the frontline who are risking their lives to save other lives. And we prayerfully ask that you do your part by staying home and practice social distancing. Yes, the virus has hit close to home and sadly to report, the mother of Alfonzo Porter (Denver Urban Spectrum editor) passed away on Saturday, April 4th due to COVID-19. He has joined the ranks of so many others who have lost loved ones and now enduring a state of bewilderment. As a community publication who has been committed to serving and supporting the community for 34 years and one that has been harmfully affected by this pandemic, Denver Urban Spectrum is unwavering with its longstanding goal and mission to spread news about people of color. We are taking this time as a fruitful opportunity to reevaluate our position in the community and opportunities to improve our commitment of staying connected and providing award winning journalism for, and about, people of color. Due to the decline of events (aka advertising revenue), our very popular WAG (Weekly Advertisers Guide) has been put on hold; but it will be coming back soon! In addition our print publication circulation has also temporarily decreased. The good news is our online presence has increased! And with our new platform which will be revealed soon, we need to increase it even more – and we need your help. Our next issue will be a Special Coronavirus Edition that will address diverse issues affecting people of color locally and nationally. We want to share it as far and as wide as possible to inform our communities of this devastating dilemma. While we are preparing, we ask that you prepare as well. In honor of all those who have lost their lives due to COVID-19 and those still to perish, help us spread the word by liking us, following us, registering with us on all our social media platforms. We are asking ALL of you, to please take a moment and click on the following links and click on the prompts. •Like us, follow us, share on Facebook…https://www.facebook.com/DenverUrbanSpectrum/ •Follow us on Twitter…https://twitter.com/DUS_Tweets •Follow us on Instagram…https://www.instagram.com/denverurbanspectrumofficial/?hl=en •Follow us on Issuu: https://issuu.com/search?q=denver%20urban%20spectrum •Subscribe to our Website newsletter: http://www.denverurbanspectrum.com/subscribe We thank you for your continued support and look forward to serving you even better in the not so distant future.
