USNOW! webcast is available to view now on the DUS YouTube channel and by clicking here. Our June print publication recognized Black Music month. Charles Emmons talked Sandra Watts, Shelton Bouknight, Ron Ivory, Gerald Albright, Mary Louise Lee, Wil Alston and Linda Theus Lee on how the pandemic has impacted their business. Zilingo Nwuke visited with the Juneteenth Music Festival organizers on how they will present a virtual festival coming up this week. Read these and other stories including what Greg Moore says on how COVID-19 is affecting the news business and how the Colorado Media Project has joined together several independent local news outlets to participate in the Colorado News Collaborative’s COVID Coverage Network. To read this issue, click here. Lastly, and also very important, in light of the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis and the recent killing of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta, a group of mothers have come together, out of the love and concern of their sons, to produced a video to encourage the public to take action - in order to make change in this country - by registering to vote, calling their congressperson, and encouraging everyone to vote. 34th Annual Colorado Black Arts Festival July 10 – 12, 2020 | Going Virtual Fri: 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. | Sat: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. | Sun: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The 2020 Colorado Black Arts Festival is going virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Colorado Black Arts Festival leadership made the difficult decision to cancel the traditional live festival scheduled for July 10, 11 and12 in Denver City Park. This call was made after weeks of monitoring local, state, and federal government official orders and careful deliberation about the public health impact of the COVID-19. We believe we have made the right decision for the safety and health of guests, participants, volunteers, and staff during these unprecedented times.

The details of the virtual festival will be announced soon! So check back at www.colbaf.org We look forward to returning to our live event the second weekend of July 2021 to bring you the best in African Diaspora visual and performing arts plus engaging art and cultural experiences.

Thanks!
