What you’ll cover Developing Professional Business Skills

How you’ll learn The programme has been designed to give you the basic knowledge, background and skills during your first year. In your second year, you will learn more advanced techniques and be introduced to some more advanced specialisms within the accounting subject. In your final year, you will be tackling complicated accounting and ethical issues and will work more independently.

Your career There is always a demand for accounting graduates. Our past students have gone on to work for local public practices, multinational accounting firms and taken up accounting careers in merchant banks and other large businesses. As an accountant you will have the opportunity to work in many diverse fields, anywhere in the world. We've designed the degree so you get significant exemptions from a number of the professional accounting bodies. This shortens the time required for you to become a fully qualified member of your chosen professional body.

This degree equips you with a sound knowledge of accounting and business which will enable you to take up a management position in industry and commerce, or become a professional accountant. You'll be offered an accounting curriculum that is up to date, vocationally relevant and reflects the complex and challenging nature of the accounting and business environment.

STAGE THREE

Entry requirements: Academic – 260 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 220 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification.

Additional information You will be assigned a personal tutor to assist you throughout the degree who will ensure that you maximise the opportunities provided by personal development planning. All of our accounting lecturers are professionally qualified with years of experience in different aspects and areas of accounting and are always available to help you with your career and development options.
