Derby 10k Course Marshal (City Centre) Event: Derby 10k and 3k Fun Run Organisation: Sporting Futures Location: Derby City Centre Zones 2, 3, 4 Date: 06/04/2014 Time: TBC Age: 18+ Tasks

Sign in with Zone Leader at Market Place – City Centre Ensure all equipment and barriers have been put in place. Assist in putting up banners and barriers on route. Assist with traffic flow, road closures and opening. Keep designated area litter free and risk free. Encourage and support runners along the route. Ensure public are clear of the route. Follow event policy in the event of an emergency. After last runner assist in taking down equipment and barriers.  Return all equipment to City Centre Volunteer Coordinator  Sign out with Zone Team Leader.

Sign in with Zone Leaders at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge Assist in putting up banners, cones and barriers on route. Ensure all equipment and barriers have been put in place. Assist with traffic flow, road closures and opening Keep designated area litter free and risk free. Ensure public are clear of the route. Encourage and support runners along the route. After last runner assist in taking down equipment and barriers. Communicate with Zone Leader re last runner through zone, report incidents within the zone Assist with road closures and re-opening Litter pick designated area. Baggage Zone Member (iPro Stadium) Event: Derby 10k and 3k Fun Run Organisation: Sporting Futures Location: iPro Stadium Date: 06/04/2014 Time: TBC Tasks

 Sign in with Zone Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge  Ensure all entrances, walk ways and emergency exits are safe and clear from obstruction  Ensure baggage is tagged correctly and stored  Ensure baggage is secure in the lorry  Ensure baggage is reissued to the correct owners  Ensure the baggage lorry is manned at all times  Ensure all litter is cleared at the end of the event.  Ensure all banners, hazard tape and signs are taken back to the Players Lounge.  Sign out with Zone Leader

Car Park Marshal (Pride Park area) Event: Derby 10k and 3k Fun Run Organisation: Sporting Futures Location: Pride Park & Official 10k car parks Date: 06/04/2014 Time: TBC Age: 18+ Tasks

 Sign in with Zone 1 Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge  Set up signage for car park areas – iPro Stadium, Riverside Road, Fireplace Centre, Cattle Market,  Ensure only designated car parking areas are used on Pride Park  Ensure spaces are filled in military fashion to ensure a methodical and efficient parking system  Ensure car parks are manned until the end of the event  Ensure all litter is cleared at the end of the event.  Ensure all banners, hazard tape and signs are taken back to the media centre.  Sign out with Zone Leader

Finish Concourse Marshal Event: Derby 10k and 3k Fun Run Organisation: Sporting Futures Location: iPro Stadium – pitch side & East Stand Date: 06/04/2014 Time: TBC Tasks

Sign in with your Zone Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge Ensure all entrances, walk ways and emergency exits are safe and clear from obstruction. Ensure all tables, signs and barriers are erected and taken down post event. Ensure T-shirts and medals are set up ready for distribution prior to the race. Ensure water/snack tables are set up ready for distribution prior to the race. Ensure you are in position and are clearly briefed Ensure all packaging is put into the recycling prior to the start of the race. Ensure pitch side and the East stand concourse is free from crowd congestion. Ensure there is a one way system for runners through Gate E & along the East Stand concourse. Ensure that you know where the family meeting area is (briefed by Zone Leader). Ensure you give out the t-shirts/ medals by hand and collect T-shirt tickets from 10k runners . Medals for 3k Fun Run must be placed over head. Ensure no access to the East or South stand via the stair wells (2 stewards to each stairwell) Operate the overspill via the stairwells if required. Ensure all you stay in position until the last runner of the 3k Fun Run has passed Ensure all litter is cleared at the end of the event. Ensure tables are stacked inside concourse at Gate S Ensure all surplus t-shirts, medals and refreshments are secure Ensure all banners, hazard tape and signs are taken back to the Players Lounge. Tasks

Sign in with your Zone Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge You may have to switch between start & finish line duties Ensure you are escorted to the finish line after the start of the race Ensure runners stay off the pitch at the finish line Ensure runners keep moving through the one way system Assist runners who have dropped to the floor or are stationary. Ensure quick reaction to over spill operation being put in place (briefed on day by Team Leader) Ensure you stay in position until the last runner has gone past your station and your line manager gives you the all clear Ensure all litter is cleared at the end of the event. Ensure all banners, hazard tape and signs are taken back to the media centre. Sign out with Zone Leader

Sign in with Zone Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge Ensure all equipment and barriers are in place Ensure runners enter the correct pen – provide assistance where necessary Ensure all runners clothing and belongings are picked up and taken to the baggage lorry after the start of the race Remove start line barriers after the start of the 10k race You may have to switch between start & finish line duties Ensure all litter is cleared at the end of the start. Ensure all barriers are taken down and stacked in the designated place after the 3k Fun Run start Ensure spectators do not interfere with the start/finish. Follow specific, individual instructions from your team leader Assist public with any queries they may have & point them in the right direction Ensure No Access areas are kept clear Follow event policy in the event of an emergency. Sign in with Zone Leader at iPro Stadium – Players Lounge Take equipment to Water Station at Chequers Road Set up water station & drop zone at Chequers Road as appropriate Ensure signage is in place before runners come through – Water Station & Drop Zone End Assist with Car Parking at Cattle Market Ensure all litter is cleared from area after last runner comes through Encourage and support runners as they come through the zone. Follow event policy in the event of an emergency. Return to iPro Stadium once last runner is through & area is free of signage & litter Liaise with car park security company in terms of road opening onto Pentagon Island & Eastgate Stay clear of cars trying to leave Cattle Market car park Sign out with Zone Leader

RACE DAY PHOTOGRAPHERS Event: Derby 10k and 3k Fun Run Organisation: Sporting Futures Location: iPro Stadium & along Derby 10k route Date: Fri 4th – Sat 6th April 2014 Time: TBC A team of photography students is needed to capture the events of race weekend - Students should become familiar with iPro Stadium & the Derby 10k route so they can decide where to take photos - Plan where/what/who to photograph – set up, during the race, spectators, after the race - A Family Photo booth can be set up in the Race Village to photograph families/runners taking part in the 10k and/or 3k event. A small donation from each family can be given back to Sporting Futures charity. - A photo gallery will be developed on the Derby 10k/Sporting Futures website so that photos can be downloaded by entrants/spectators - Any other ideas for photographic opportunities are welcomed!
