Human Resource Management Joint Honours Where you will study: Derby Campus – Kedleston Road site Entry requirements: Academic – 220-300 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 200-240 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification. About the course The first stage will introduce you to business and HR and the second stage develops an understanding of the policies, procedures and practices of HR. You can choose to take a placement year as your third year, or move straight to the final stage where you'll be looking at HR strategies and how these link in to the overall organisation.

How you’ll learn All modules involve the discussion and application of underlying concepts. You will produce your ideas in a variety of formats and as you advance through your studies you will be able to introduce more analytical tools and techniques to interpret information. Assessment is by a combination of case studies, learning logs and reflective portfolios, computer assessments, group projects and individual assignments. A work placement year is optional but recommended.
Your career We'll prepare you for a range of careers in HRM in the public, private and not-forprofit sectors. Your first role will be a junior HR role, from which you can develop through progression and professional accreditation in your field. Your career development can be enhanced further by supplementing your degree with CIPD professional qualifications or you can choose to study for a masters qualification here in Derby Business School. Take advantage of the reduction in fees you'll qualify for as a Derby alumni.
Additional information With joint honours, you can study for an honours degree in two or even three subjects. You can study Human Resource Management as either a major, joint or minor pathway.
