The HND course introduces you to the core range of business and management subjects, from HR and economic policy through to management decision making. You'll develop an approach that is both questioning and reflective. You'll develop your innovative and entrepreneurial skills, and your personal skills including report writing and presentations, research, individual and group working skills, all of which are vital in any business role.

STAGE TWO

Entry requirements: Academic – 160 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 120 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification.

How you’ll learn You'll be assessed in a variety of ways including computer based assessments, group and individual written assessments, portfolios, reflective diary and group presentations.

Your career On completion of the HND you'll understand and be familiar with evolving concepts, theories and techniques in business and management, and you'll know how they can be successfully applied to real business situations. You will have developed your own personal skills, from being able to organise and prioritise your workload, to developing your leadership skills and your self-confidence. All will increase your employability in a competitive job market, and help your career development. You can choose to continue your studies to a full honours degree by studying one of our range of top-up degrees, including business management and international business.

What you’ll cover In the first and second years you'll take the Business Management and Practice modules which are both work related. You can take what you learn and apply it to your own job and organisation. Likewise, you can use your daily work to inform and help your learning. During the second stage of the HND you'll learn more advanced techniques and have the choice to specialise in a choice of different pathways which includes Enterprise and Marketing.
