Why choose this course? This degree is one of the few marketing courses in the UK that is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for a dual award. Students are involved in ‘real’ marketing projects in graphic design, trend tracking and advertising.

STAGE TWO
The first stage will introduce you to the fundamentals of marketing and how marketing functions in a real business. At the second stage you'll start to specialise in marketing and advertising areas. You will be supported in finding an optional placement year in your third year, or you can continue straight to the final stage. The final stage of the course focuses more on brand strategy and consultancy.

Through real projects and briefs, this course will introduce you to a wide range of marketing disciplines including advertising, social media, branding and public relations. You'll learn how to develop advertising briefs, identify target markets, understand consumers and how to write for and manage media.

Entry requirements: Academic – 260 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 220 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification.

Your career On completion of this degree you'll have gained an academic understanding of marketing, the experience of applying it to real business, either through a placement or a consultancy project, and professional qualifications from two of the leading marketing industry professional bodies. All of this will increase your employability and prepare you for your first graduate position in marketing. Our graduates have gone on to work in all types of different marketing areas, from brand and category management to advertising agency account management, internal marketing, media planning and copy writing.

This course is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for a Dual Award, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to work towards achieving the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing as part of your degree. In addition, you'll also achieve Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) professional qualifications.

What you’ll cover All marketing students take the Advertising Apprentice module. On this module, students are assessed by taking part in real projects from a range of organisations in the second year. The aim of this approach is to encourage students to apply their knowledge to practical situations and to experience being challenged and meeting deadlines.
