About the course This course will introduce you to practical skills in construction technology and allow you to develop the best way to learn, interpret data and understand the theories of construction management. Additional information You will study this course full time, but if you want to top up a foundation degree or HND you can study stage three by day release, subject to bridging requirements being met. Between the second and third year you will have the option of developing your skills and knowledge in industry by completing a work placement. On completion of two modules, you will be awarded the Diploma in Professional Practice.
You will be based at Markeaton Street, where you will use the latest software including ArchiCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Project and Cato CADMeasure. We regularly have experts from industry as guest lecturers, and we’ve got links with renowned companies so you will be able to work on live projects that will give you valuable real-world experience. Your career Our graduates are mainly employed by construction and civil engineering contractors who work for large companies, and for the public sector. Some have also entered the teaching profession, and others undertake further postgraduate study such as our MSc in Construction Project Management. Once you’ve completed the course, you will have every opportunity to pursue an exciting, professional career in construction management, project management, site management or manufacturing.
