Additional information This course is one of only a handful in the UK that offers you the opportunity to work with celluloid film as a medium. You'll learn about the equipment and software that is currently being used in the moving image sectors, so you'll be ready to start work in the industry when you graduate.
We also provide support for graduates starting out in the creative industries, through our incubation unit - Banks Mill. It offers studio workspace and business development activities, in a vibrant and thriving community of artists, designers and makers.
We also encourage students to get involved in film festivals such as FIVE/24 which gives aspiring film makers a single day to write, shoot, edit and complete a film which will then be shown on the big screen at Quad.
If you don't have the appropriate qualifications to start this course, you can apply to study Year Zero for a year first.
Our students are encouraged to enter competitions during the course. Chris Bevan won a training place as a director with the prestigious National Youth Film Academy.
Many successful directors start off with these sorts of short films as a 'calling card', to go on to greater things. Chris Bevan
