International Hospitality Management BA (Hons) Where you will study: Buxton Campus. This is our second campus and is 1 hour’s drive away from our main campus in Derby. Entry requirements: Academic – 260 UCAS tariff points, of which at least 220 must be from your International Baccalaureate or equivalent qualification. Language – A qualification such as IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all areas) or TOEFL – 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), 80 (internet based). Course fees: £10,225 per year* *These fees apply if you are starting this course between September 2013 and August 2014. We recommend you check fees as they can change. Costs can increase each year.

About the course

Your career

You will acquire operational knowledge and skills and will be provided with the opportunity to apply theory into practice, while developing your further in depth knowledge and understanding in particular areas.

A significant number of our students have gone on to management positions in the industry, some have become entrepreneurs and established their own thriving businesses.

Throughout the programme you will develop transferable skills through a variety of real world learning activities and module assessments.

How you’ll learn You will be taught using demonstrations, lectures and tutorials and get hands on practical experience with our commercial facilities, through formal lectures, practical demonstrations, seminars, small group exercises, case study discussions, videos, guest speakers and professional visits. You will have the opportunity to go on a UK based residential trip and professional visits such as trips to Normandy and Calvados. You will find it fascinating applying classroom activity and learning in the real world.

One of our graduates is now employed at the Kempinski Hotel in Shanghai and is actively seeking to recruit our students to food and beverage positions.

The University works closely with local, national and international employers such as the Crieff Hydro, Gleneagles, Engineers Country Club, USA, White Manor Country Club USA, Carnegie Club Skibo Castle, Hilton International, and Marriott. This programme is also accredited by, the professionally recognised, Institute of Hospitality.
