Why choose this course? ▪You’ll develop the knowledge and skills you need for a successful management career in the hospitality industry and have the opportunity to undertake a paid placement in the UK or abroad to provide you with valuable work experience that employers are increasingly expecting. ▪ You’ll be taught by people with a wealth of industry experience and the ability to apply relevant business theory within the context of the hospitality industry. ▪ You’ll study and apply your learning within the Real World Learning facilities on campus. About the course As well as acquiring operational knowledge and skills, you’ll have the opportunity to put theory into practice while developing in depth knowledge and understanding in particular areas. How you’ll learn The course offers an exciting mix of case study discussions, demonstrations, guest speakers, lectures and tutorials, professional visits, seminars, small group exercises, videos and practical experience in our commercial facilities. You’ll be assessed through a combination of work including written assignments and practical assessments, group or individual oral presentations and group or individual work on our virtual learning environment.
Assessment Assessments have been designed in consultation with industry professionals to challenge and develop your practical and theoretical skills.
Your career Students who undertake this course will be able to pursue a range of exciting careers within this sector. A significant number of our students have gone on to management positions in the industry, ranging from private four-star properties to a five-star hotel resort. Some have become entrepreneurs and established their own thriving businesses. This course also provides a foundation for further study at final year undergraduate level in hospitality or similar areas of study such as business studies, leisure or tourism.
