About the course This course develops students as legal specialists who have an in-depth understanding of crime and crime response techniques. Students can further specialise in criminal justice, investigation, offender management or gender crime. While Criminal Psychology and Applied Victimology are recommended for all students there are over twenty modules of optional study available. Teaching and learning You will follow the legal process from crime scene to courtroom, undertake problem-based research, and specialise through original academic enquiry. Lectures and tutorials are delivered by the UK’s most effective law teaching team. Teaching support includes fortnightly individual tutorials (Year One), professional skills coaching (Year Two) and a customised curriculum, aimed at developing your practise of research specialisms (Year Three). You will also have access to independent practitioner mentors.

Your career On completion of the LLB, you could enjoy a successful career at home or abroad as a Solicitor or Barrister. You could work in private practice, local government, the CPS, courts, law centres, Police, banking, commerce, industry or education. An LLB degree is a valuable qualification in itself and even if you don’t want to become a practitioner you will find that it still provides a stepping-stone to many other careers.
