This is a course that really helped me to develop my vocational engineering skills, particularly through the Work Based Learning modules. Stuart Brown
About the course This course will give you a sound basis in engineering principles and vocational experience. You will specialise in areas such as manufacturing systems and CAD. These subjects are essential to a modern mechanical or manufacturing engineer. Throughout this practical engineering course, you will develop the range of specialist skills, knowledge and understanding you will need to work towards Incorporated Engineer registration. Teaching and learning You will attend one full day per week, on part time day release. You will also study a number of Work Based Learning modules, carrying out live engineering projects in conjunction with your employer to promote your career development.

When you’ve successfully completed this course you will be eligible to move on to our BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering or BEng (Hons) Manufacturing and Production Engineering, allowing you to top up your qualification to an honours degree with the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineering level. You will be able to apply your skills and knowledge for a wide range of roles within the mechanical, manufacturing and motorsport engineering industries.
