Why choose this course? ▪ This programme can be combined with Sport Coaching, Sport Psychology or Sports Massage and Exercise Therapies, which means that you will study two subject areas, giving you a great range of knowledge and skills for your future career. ▪ You will be taught by our experienced tutors who work with Olympic, World, European, and Commonwealth Champions in cycling, martial arts, golf, athletics and motor racing.
About the course This programme is perfect for you if you want to develop your knowledge and skills in sports development. Our team comprises of elite athletes, coaches and former sports development officers, so you can be confident you'll be taught by the best.
How you’ll learn You will be taught in a variety of ways, including lectures, seminars and practical activities. You will have the chance to do a work placement, so you can develop the skills you need to apply for sports development or management roles when you graduate
Your career Sport development work is varied and there is no standard job description. Different Officers have different roles and responsibilities, eg a Schools and Young People Officer’s role will vary from that of a Community Recreation Officer. Or, if you want to carry on studying, you can go on to one of our postgraduate or research programmes.
