Multi-Value Custom Performance Tiles Performance Tiles are a cool new feature in OBIEE 11g, and we can format them quite nicely. In this course, we will explore the use of pivot tables to create DIY performance tiles that can be formatted in creative ways that an ordinary performance tile view cannot achieve.
Selectable, Multi-Level Drilling Using Ordinary Attribute Columns OBIEE’s imbedded hierarchical columns (the implementation of a true drill-down and drill-up feature introduced in 11g) must ordinarily be drilled one node at a time. For example, if your geography hierarchy includes 50 states, you would have to click 50 times on an embedded hierarchical column, once for each state, to see all of the cities under those states. In this exercise, we will learn how to make it possible to expand and collapse all nodes of an entire hierarchy level with a single mouse click.
Stacked Vertical Bar Graphs with Multi-Dimensional Conditional Formatting and Multi-Year Grouping / Spacing Conditional Formatting is most typically applied to graph components by position (e.g., 1st bar is green, 2nd is blue, 3rd is red, and so forth). However, it is possible to apply formatting that ties specific colors to specific dimension values (i.e., East = Cyan, West = Yellow, Central = Orange) in the graph. It is even possible to specify a different color for every data cell represented in a graph. For example, in an analysis that returns 12 rows of data, it is possible to format a stacked bar graph with 12 different specified colors, one for each cell of data represented in the graph. In this course, we will explore conditional graph formatting and assign specific colors to graph objects based on the value of a single column and then based on the combinations of multiple columns.
t Table Formatting Extreme Pivot In this exercise, we will explore the application of very advanced conditional formatting rules based on a variety of conditions that are only indirectly related to an existing subject area column.

Pivot Tables that Scroll within Selectable Row Ranges In its early versions, the OBIEE table view was displayed one page at a time, while the pivot table view featured a scrolling window. Now, in OBIEE 11g, both of these view types may be paged or scrolled. However, what if we want to combine the two ideas and select a particular range of rows yet still use a scroll bar? In this course, we will discover a creative way to combine the utility of the scroll bar with the simplicity of displaying a fixed number of rows.
SELECTING MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF ONE COLUMN WITH A SINGLE DASHBOARD PROMPT When creating a dashboard prompt, you can't add the same column twice— the dashboard prompt doesn't allow it. But what if you really need to do so? In this course, we will explore the creation of a dashboard prompt that allows us to select a beginning month from one drop-down list and an ending month from another drop-down list, effectively allowing the selection of two different values of the same column from a single dashboard prompt.
