Teddy Bears for Covenant for Kids

Every year, Tri-County Michigan H.O.G. Chapter #2250 presents a Teddy Bear Run. The purpose of the run is to put a smile on the face of a child at Covenant Hospital for Kids in Saginaw. At least 1600 children benefit from the Teddy Bear Run every year, with over 20,000 Teddy Bears donated over the past 13 years. With 2019 being their 14th year donating, they are excited to once again come to the rescue of a sick or injured child. The run is a motorcycle event open to the public (anyone can ride!) and begins at Great Lakes Harley-Davidson (their sponsor) located at 3850 S. Huron Road, Bay City, MI on Saturday, August 3, 2019. Registration takes place between 1–2:45 p.m. with kickstands up at 3 p.m. The ride is police-patrolled and traffic-directed at major intersections. You can expect over 200 motorcycles adorned with teddy bears and other stuffed animals. This year includes a new route, which captures fifty scenic miles and arrives Covenant at 4 p.m. for the Teddy Bear presentation to the hospital. Some lucky riders even have an opportunity to enter the hospital and present their teddy bears in person. Upon completion, everyone is invited to Patty Fleming’s, 6540 State St, Saginaw, MI (where the ride will end) for food and drink specials and a social time. If you don’t ride a motorcycle and want to help with a donation of a teddy bear, stuffed animal, or monetary contribution, you can always drop them off at Great Lakes Harley-Davidson, beginning July 1. There will be a box inside the dealership for your drop-offs. Tri-County Michigan H.O.G. Chapter #2250 and Great Lakes Harley-Davidson are the largest donors to Covenant for Kids. This ride provides enough Teddy Bears and stuffed animals to Covenant Kids for AN ENTIRE YEAR! The cost? A Teddy Bear, a stuffed animal (wrapped in plastic, if possible) or a cash donation. EACH YEAR THIS EVENT PROVIDES COVENANT HEALTHCARE WITH ENOUGH TEDDY BEARS AND STUFFED ANIMALS FOR EACH CHILD THAT HAS TO BE IN THE PEDIATRIC UNIT.
