Architectural Model A 3.8-hectares intracity bus terminal located on Jalan Bekasi Raya, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta Three main objectives of this project are to revitalize old Pulo Gadung Bus Terminal, maximize bus capacity for intracity bus system, and give green contribution to arid Pulo Gadung area. Performed a building height study for a development area. Learned the contents of urban design guidelines and Jakarta’s planning regulations. Produced drawings required for design and access statements.

A new 30-hectares master- Visualisations of each proposed scheme (original) plan within West Jakarta CBD area had been prepared by the client, PT. Antilope Madju Puri Indah. Planning permission was required to implement the masterplan. PSUD was appointed PSUD’s proposition Client’s proposition Client’s design consultant’s proposition to assist the client and carry out some studies needed in Visualisations of each proposed scheme (in compliance with the existing guidelines) obtaining the premission. For that, a study needed to be done to see the implications of the new masterplan to the area and to look for possibilities in which the exisiting guidelines could be improved PSUD’s proposition Client’s proposition Client’s design consultant’s proposition and updated to incorporate the proposed masterplan. The result of this study was that the existing guidelines should be updated and include the scheme prepared by the client’s design consultant.

Jakarta North Coast Replanning Project
Observed the interaction between clients, planning and design consultant and planning authority. Experienced a mega-scale masterplanning project. Gained significant understanding about reclamation method. This 5,000-hectares reclamation project, which is one of Jakarta’s mega projects, has been going since 1995. PSUD is involved in this project as a planning and design consultant hired by the developers. PSUD acts as a bridge between clients (developers) and planning authority. A comprehensive urban design strategy needed to be devised as well as several site specific sectional studies to determine the width of conservation zone each island should provide and which reclamation method to be used.

West Ancol (North - Block 5) Urban Design Guidelines
Assisted a project director by being the person-in-charge for the project. Handled the pressure of tight project schedule and ever-changing design. Produced a final report and urban design guidelines As a part of the massive reclamation project, this 35-hectares was planned as an extension of the existing water theme park which also includes a new waterfront development consists of high-rise commercial and residential buildings. PSUD was hired by PT. Jaya Ancol Tbk. to prepare detailed urban design guidelines. A number of consultation sessions were carried out between the consultant and the client to finalise the design and the report required to obtain planning permission.

The project aims to generate and secure funds for the further work of the Foundation. They are also concious of Local Authority’s intentions to improve the neighbourhood, particularly the public realm around St. Leonard’s Church and fronting Hackney Road. Housing shortage in London is an external issue that should be addressed in this project. (Autodesk Revit Architecture, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign)

A 46.5-hectares new development site located within a large suburban district, Southall, on the outskirts of central London near Heathrow Airport in London Borough of Ealing area. A key assumption has been made as an approach to this project. The assumption is that Southall will need a new Sikh temple because the new Crossrail station will be built on the existing temple’s site. This project aims to create an array of open spaces and residential development, to encourage pedestrian movement and cycling and to establish a new neighbourhood centre.

Uxbridge Road is the main road in Southall which connects Southall town centre with Central London. Good public transportation provision supports commercial activities along this road. Consequently, it has medium to high movement intensity.

Southall is divided into two parts, the northern and the southern part, by a railway line. Most of the buildings in the southern part of Southall are being used as residential now. Residents frequently commute to the north part or to Central London by walking or driving through The Green. The presence of places of worship, such as Gudwara Sikh Temple, which is the largest Sikh temple outside of India, and St. John Church is causing medium to high intensity in the southern part of Southall.

PEDESTRIAN ACTIVITY AND MOVEMENT INTENSITY Southall Train Station, Himalaya Palace Shopping Centre and Quality Foods Supermarket are the most active buildings in Southall. Because of those buildings, South Road becomes the busiest road in Southall and is always crowded with pedestrians and vehicles. Extremely high pedestrian movement also occurs around the intersection of Uxbridge Road and South Road because there are Southall Town Hall and lots of shops and commercial activities.

PEDESTRIAN ACTIVITY SUMMARY The importance and high usage of Uxbridge Road and South Road is not followed with the good condition and maintenance of foot ways in which commercial activities often take place. They not only reduce space for pedestrians but also make streetscapes visually unpleasant. The lack and sporadic placement of trees on sidewalks also contributes to the unattractive appearance of the street. It is situated at the most western section of the Westway corridor, the area consists of sports and leisure facilities including: football pitches, tennis courts, cricket nets, a climbing wall, and swimming facilities to name but a few.
Within this area there are existing community related facilities including Maxilla nursery school and Maxilla Gardens- the larger of the parks along the west section of the Westway. There are also a number of retails units which include: Bramley’s Big Adventure Playground centre, Maxilla social club and the Kensington and Chelsea College. The levels of movement intensity and activity vary depending on what time of day it is to weather it I extremely low to moderately high.
This area consists of existing well established employment comprising of both ofďŹ ce and light industrial uses. The stretch of road is highly used by pedestrians and is considered an important pedestrian movement channel as it provides links to Ladbroke grove and tube station. This creates a moderate level of movement and activity intensity during the day between the two ends. Occasionally this movement corridor can have conicts between pedestrians, cyclists and cars as their deďŹ ned area for each is not clear.
The extent of road between Thorpe close and Portobello Road is by far the most active area within the ďŹ ve deďŹ ned sections. The distinction of Portobello Road especially on weekends draws thousands of visitors to the area, yet on week days the area is signiďŹ cantly quieter mainly be utilised by locals. This area also includes the smaller of the two parks situated next to the Portobello Road ‘tents’. The intensity levels of movement and activity are extremely high during the weekends, yet in comparison moderately low during the weekdays.
To the east of Portobello Road Acklam Village is very active during the weekends and consists of a ‘pop up’ cinema, a bar and stalls, yet during the week days remains under used. There is also a ‘fee-paying’ skate park which has recently been enhanced by Nike but the public realm along this stretch is relatively poor. A nightclub and a small amount of work units are also located in this section.
Although there are many major sports facilities the area has poor pedestrian access and legibility. The intensity of movement and activity is generally at a consistent high level through the week day and weekends. Within this area there is also an existing traveller’s site and a 3000sqm light industrial oor space.

Considering how many community facilities are present in this section the public realm is poor for pedestrian access and walk ability.
Legibility and intensity is at a low in perspective to Portobello Road.
The buildings under the Westway are not aesthetically pleasing and some of the frontages are in need of up grading or changing from blank frontages to active frontages.

Architectural Design Competition UGM Eco House Design Competition 2010
Listed as the top ten best design. Participated as a team member. Main concept: “Spacious Living in a Green Compact House� Recycled steel beams and columns are used as the main structural material to reduce built costs. Rain water harvesting concept is applied to make the house more environmental-friendly. A sliding wall partition from bamboo serves as a temporary wall that can be folded for more space.
