Running Track, St Columb’s Park @ 12-4pm Derry City Council and Sustrans invite you to celebrate the opening of your new walking and cycling path with a free family fun day! Join a led cycle to the event with Sustrans Fresh Air Miles Family Ride via Foyle Valley Greenway and Peace Bridge6.5km (4miles) departing Templemore Sports Complex @ 12noon or Sainsbury’s @ 12.30pm. Arrives at Dungiven Road/Woodburn Park Crossroads at 5pm Route continues through Dales Corner along the Limavady Road/Caw Brae. The Torch will travel over the Foyle Bridge, Culmore Road, Strand Road, Foyle Embankment, Water Street, Foyle Street, John’s Street, Carlisle Road, Ferryquay Street, Shipquay Street, Guildhall Square, Peace Bridge, Ebrington Site and reaches it’s final destination at St Columb’s Park Stadium for the evening celebration. (Please note that the times are approximate and that at at times, the Olympic Flame will be carried in a vehicluar convoy).

Where Traditions Meet Parade Ground, Ebrington @12.45pm–4.15pm. Free Hosted by Dan Gordan featuring Sontas (10 piece of international acclaim) with a host of young artists from the Northwest counties of Derry / L’Derry, Tyrone & Donegal. This is traditional culture with a twist - fusing Ulster-Scots and Irish music, song and dance in a special showcase of fresh, new and modern performances. Olympic Carnival Parade Departs Derry City Council Offices Car Park Strand Road @ 4pm Travelling along new public realm at Queen’s Quay, across Peace Bridge and into St Columb’s Park Stadium. Led by local Olympic Heroes, this colourful flag procession by local sporting and community groups, is held in recognition of the dedication of our local citizens to the selfless development of so many local young people through sporting pursuits. Free but Ticket only entry Tickets are available from Millennium Forum Box Office: www.millenniumforum.co.uk t: 028 7126 4455 A once in a lifetime opportunity to see and welcome the Olympic Flame to the city. TV presenter Zoe Salmon hosts an exciting stage based programme of events building toward the arrival of the Torch and the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron. Live link ups on large screen, will enable us to watch the Torch Relay journey through our neighbourhoods and into the newly refurbished stadium. Featuring local and national performers including General Fiasco, fresh from touring with Snow Patrol.
