Horse Meat Disco Performing at Designer Fashion Showcase The fashion world has certainly embraced the gang having been enlisted to Dj worldwide for brands as diverse as Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Acne and Diesel. The four man Dj club collective have continued to lead the way in the disco field with packed residencies at their HQ Eagle London in London’s inner city Vauxhall, Cielo in New York, Berlin and Paris.
From the decadence of the 1920’s Jazz Age, the pure glamour of the 1930’s Dance Band Era and the nostalgia of the War Years, exciting Rhythm ‘n’ Blues, Jumpin’ Jive, exotic Latin and Calypso beats through to the Rock ‘n’ Roll explosion of the 1950s, Duke Special will run the gamut of 78rpm DJ-ing! Ursula McHugh Performing at Wedding Fashion Showcase / High Tea & Fancy Frocks Ursula McHugh made her debut at City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival in 2009 as Ursula & Co. Her influences are the show tunes of Rodgers and Hart, Gershwin and Cole Porter.
Kevin is a popular teacher and has lectured and given master classes in many countries. He is Organist to the University of Glasgow, where he plays for many of the 150 annual weddings. Couples are encouraged to have “absolutely anything they want” played on the organ. He has never turned down any request and is sure to impress with his new 60 minute collage of wedding music incorporating 60 wedding music themed pieces which he will showcase exclusively at St Columbs Cathedral.

PATTERN CUTTING & MAKING WORKSHOP WITH THE NATIONAL TAILORING ACADEMY Venue: Fashion and Textile Design Centre, 31-33 Shipquay Street Date: Friday 21st November Time: 9.30 - 1.00 / 2.00 - 5.30 Admission: Free FULLY BOOKED The National Tailoring Academy at Louis Copeland is the first place to get complete training in bespoke and fashion tailoring. They run a variety of short evening and day courses in fashion tailoring which are ideal for students and professionals who want to refine skills such as construction, patterns cutting, shirt or bespoke jacket making. We are at the newly opened Fashion and Textile Design Centre on Shipquay Street are very excited to avail of their master tailors’ skills by providing the facilities to present a fantastic opportunity to experience the world of craft tailoring. Our pattern workshop which will run for three/ four hours where the participants make a skirt to their own size, from pattern to finished garment.

From Fashion to Folk! Venue: Nerve Centre Date: Saturday 22nd November 2014 Time: 10.30am - 5pm Admission: Free The successful Foyle Folk Workshop programme, which ran in conjunction with the 2013 City of Culture, is back on Saturday 22nd November. As part of Derry City Council’s Legacy programme the Nerve Centre will offer up to 30 participants (13-18 year olds) full day workshops & masterclasses on techniques to improve song writing, alternative guitar tunings, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki and live performance skills. Participants will then get the chance to perform at this year’s Foyle Folk Presents gig on 29th November, in the Sandwich Co. featuring some of Ireland’s finest established and up and coming contemporary folk acts. It’s free to sign up though participants will need to have access to their own instruments and have some basic knowledge/prior experience, as these classes are ideally not for absolute beginners.
