BIM for Carbon Footprint

Tips for Reducing Emissions from Real Estate

1. Use energy-efficient building materials:

Insulation, double-glazed windows, and LED lighting are just some of the materials that can help to reduce emissions from buildings. By using these materials, we can reduce the energy consumption of buildings, which will lead to lower carbon dioxide emissions. This information can be stored in material passports EPD and life cycle analysis can be performed using BIM Models.

2. Use renewable energy sources:

Solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal systems are all renewable energy sources that can be used to power buildings. By using renewable energy sources, we can significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of buildings, at Desapex we help our clients to scan their existing properties or land to make the decision /plan their renewable energy project, and existing condition documentation/ survey gives an in-depth understanding of the potential of the particular site.

3. Increase efficiency:

There are many ways to make buildings more efficient, such as making sure that HVAC systems are properly maintained and installing automatic lighting controls. By increasing the efficiency of buildings, we can reduce the amount of energy they consume and, as a result, their carbon dioxide emissions. Also by having digital maintenance management modules integrated into your HVAC assets periodic maintenance can be performed and all the asset data can be digitally stored in the asset database.
