WHAT IS ESG?

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) refers to a set of criteria that organizations use to assess the sustainability and societal impact of their business activities.

Environmental criteria evaluate a company's impact on the environment and its efforts to mitigate it, such as its carbon footprint, waste management practices, and resource usage.

Social criteria assess a company's impact on society, such as its labor practices, health and safety standards, human rights record, and community engagement.

Governance criteria assess a company's management and leadership, including its transparency, accountability, and alignment of interests with shareholders.

"ESG has become increasingly important as consumers, investors, and other stakeholders seek to understand the broader impacts of a company's operations and make informed decisions. ESG can also help organizations manage risks and improve their reputation, attract and retain employees, and increase resilience over the long term"
