Huntington Library, and Botanical Gardens expands Chinese Garden
By Desert Star Staff San Marino, Calif—The highly anticipated opening of the expansion of Huntington’s legendary Chinese Garden is now a reality. Visitors are now welcomed to 11.5 new acres of pavilions, a landscape in Liu Fang Yuan, the Garden of Flowing Fragrance which was initially 3.5 acres and is now 15 acres, becoming one of the most extensive classical-style Chinese gardens in the World. The complex includes 12 acres of the central Garden, a vast bamboo grove on the Garden’s western edge, and a conifer forest to the north. “The debut of these
new sections of the Chinese Garden coincides with the conclusion of the Huntington’s yearlong Centennial Celebration and symbolically opens a new chapter in the institution’s history,” said Karen R. Lawrence, president of The Huntington. James Folsom, the Telleen/Jorgensen Director of the Botanical Gardens, said, “together we have created a world-class attraction that not only celebrates historical landscape traditions but also embodies the contemporary ideals of international

Plan a Coastal Road Trip Excursion
I
FAMILY FEATURES
f you’ve never traveled along the Pacific Coast, or maybe you’d just like to experience it from a new perspective, there are few things quite like a road trip to take in the sights and experiences that make the journey one to remember. A road trip lets you set your own pace and enjoy the companionship of friends or family. When you’re ready to explore, outdoor adventures, historical experiences and 99 miles of coastline await in Monterey County, California, which is known as a scenic, beautiful expanse along the Pacific Coast. From wide-open beaches, verdant vineyards and fields to the peaks of the Santa Lucia Mountains, there’s plenty of room to roam.
Scenic Beauty
Some of the top scenic drives in the world are along California’s coast, where you’ll find a wide range of local topography. One example is Highway 1, where starting toward the north, you’ll see the state’s second largest wetlands, artichoke fields and rolling sand dunes, as well as cypress forests and the craggy coastline. Further south, you’ll encounter towering cliffs, redwoods and aweinspiring bridges. Other notable sights include fishing ports; beaches; wildlife including seals, sea lions and sea otters; the famed Lone Cypress; mansions; and several championship golf courses.
Outdoor Adventure
When you’re ready for some action, there’s plenty to find along the coast. From a captivating 18-mile long recreation trail with coastline views to kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, whale-watching excursions and more, there are numerous ways to whet an appetite for adventure near the ocean. Inland, you’ll find options like hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, cave exploring and horseback riding.
Wine Country
Along the California coast, you can find tens of thousands of acres of vineyards producing more than 53 different varietals of wine. In Monterey County alone, you can take your pick among 65 tasting rooms set against picturesque backdrops. How you choose to experience wine country is as diverse as the varietals you’ll discover. For example, you might head to the beach with a newly purchased bottle of your favorite wine, jump aboard a wine trolley to let someone else do the driving for a while or schedule a tour that takes you behind the scenes with a winemaker.
Beach Time
No visit to the coast is complete without a visit to the beach, but not all beaches are the same. From white sandy beaches to rocky cliffs, you could plan an entire road trip around the different kinds of beaches waiting for you to discover their beauty. Enjoy bird spotting, rock collecting, surfing, tide pooling and more. Some of the area’s greatest treasures are the lesserknown beaches, including one that sits in the middle of Cannery Row. The sheltered cove of McAbee Beach was used by Portuguese whalers in the 1850s and Chinese fishermen in the early 1900s. Today, this secret beach is a

perfect spot to let kids burn off energy before or after a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Visitors can spot seals and otters playing offshore, and it’s a popular launching point for scuba divers exploring the kelp forests.
Wellness for Body and Mind
When you’ve taken in the sights and explored to your heart’s content, be sure to leave time for rejuvenation. From spas and meditation retreats to spending time in nature, it’s easy to make wellness a priority when visiting the California coast. You can even enjoy food that’s as good for you as it is delicious with a growing focus on sustainability by visiting daily farmers’ markets and fish markets, which provide a bounty of locally sourced produce, fresh meat, seafood and hand-made treasures for a truly enriching cultural experience. Cash Flow Drain? Here are Some Ways to Help
By Janice Gough Many entrepreneurs have a lovehate relationship with business financing, so they often overlook shortterm loans. Interest and other charges can put a bad taste in your mouth. You might feel like the loan has only made things harder financially. On the other hand, loans are often a necessity. Small business lending and approval rates have been picking up recently, based on industry research. This means more people will have the capital to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. That’s a good thing.

Unfortunately, despite a more favorable business lending environment, it still might be too difficult to get approval for a long-term loan or SBA loan. If that’ is the case, don’t be disappointed. You can find other types of funding. Read on to learn about three options for short-term loans, along with the benefits and requirements for each. 1. Short-term loans from an online lender The digital age has made it possible to apply for and get a short-term loan from an online-based lender in as little as one day. Functioning much like a traditional term loan, payments are typically made daily or weekly with short-term loans, along with interest. If you qualify by having the following requirement, you may be eligible quickly. Generally, requirements for approval are At least one year in businessA decent credit score & At least $50K in annual revenue. Typically, you could get anywhere from $2,500 to $250,000 through shortterm loans, with the term ranging from three to 18 months. Interest rates tend to start at about 10 percent. The speed at which the funds arrive is a significant advantage, as short-term loans could immediately help you out of a cash flow issue. There’s little paperwork (always a blessing). Also, the funds can be used any way you see fit, from meeting payroll to buying seasonal inventory.
2. Business line of credit Cash flow problems remain one of the biggest challenges small business owners face. And roughly 84 percent say they can’t get all the funding they need. What if there was a way to access cash anytime you needed it? This would certainly solve some money problems, especially day-to-day needs. This is precisely how a business line of credit can benefit you. It can ensure you always have the cash to pay utilities, vendors, and employees. The money can even be used for things like marketing campaigns to grow your business, paying off other debts, upgrading your office or storefront — and more. The good news is that qualifying for a business line of credit can be much easier than traditional term loans. Qualifications usually include the following: At least six months in business. -A good credit score of $50,000+ in annual revenue. Your credit limit will likely be between $10,000 and $1 million, depending on your needs and your company’s financial situation. Interest rates typically go from 7 percent to 25 percent, which means it’s possible to get comparable rates to even long-term loans. Another good thing about a business line of credit is that it gives you access to revolving capital, meaning that your credit limit goes back to its original amount once you repay. For instance, if you use $20,000 of a $100,000 credit
limit, your available credit will be $80,000. If you pay that $20,000 back next month, then your available credit will go back up to $100,000. Also, you only pay interest on the funds you withdraw. This is nice because you can use funds as you need them. So, if your business line of credit has a limit of $50,000 and you take out $10,000, only that $10,000 is subject to interest charges. 3. Equipment financing Most businesses require some form of equipment, whether it be computers and mobile phones to machinery and vehicles. If you have a restaurant, think about how necessary kitchen equipment is to your business’s success. This is where equipment financing enters the picture. Equipment financing is money lent to you so you can buy equipment outright. It can serve as a critical form of financing to power your business forward. The excellent news is that equipment loans are pretty accessible. You don’t need to put up collateral since the equipment itself secures the loan. Other typical requirements may include: At least 11 months in business. A decent credit score & About $100,000 in annual revenue. The loan amount can be up to 100 percent of the equipment’s value, with interest rates generally spanning from 8 percent to 30 percent. The loan term is the expected life of the equipment (which can make it a “long-term” loan, depending upon the equipment).

Managing shortterm loans responsibly — and getting ahead There are lots of advantages to getting short-term loans. It can be just what your business needs to get ahead. To avoid the disadvantages, like the potential of falling into a debt trap or unreasonably high APRs, it is crucial to understand how short-term loans can help you and how you should go about choosing, using and paying them back. Always crunch the numbers, compare options and go with the loan that makes most financial sense for your company’s current situation and future goals. Also, look over the payment schedule to make sure you can handle it on time. Beyond the benefits of cash injection into your business offers, short-term loans can also be a bridge to better loans, like the coveted SBA loan. If you pay back the loan on time, your credit score should improve, and you’ll be able to graduate to better loan products. That means you could land a long-term loan that provides your business the capital to grow sustainably for years. HOROSCOPES ARIES
You will begin to feel there is more than enough inner strength and energy to meet all the expectations and demands of work and the world, both self-imposed and from others. You will bring beauty and balance, prosperity and connectivity to your work. Also, detail, order and organization. These you will teach and then ask of others as well. Careful. Be kind and patient.
TAURUS It’s time to tend to yourself now. To spend time where you live in order to order and organize both inner and outer realities. It’s been a long long time (years?) since you’ve been able to assess needs in your personal life. Since you’ve been focused outwardly, saving the world, things as home are quite in need. Seek-ing assistance is practical. For there is much work to do. Afterward there may be a move.
GEMINI Consider your needs for a while. Allow yourself to think of all the things needed in all aspects of your life. Consider the state of your home and family, your relationships and money, your communication and sense of well-being. Are all these as they should be? Do you offer comfort, calmness and ease to others? Observe your life within these questions. Do it quietly over time. Allow emotions to be acknowledged should they appear. Feelings are messages.

CANCER
It’s good for you to seek, ask for and assess the truth, available to you from your feelings and senses. Then it is good to share with others what you sense and feel as the truth of the matter, and why. When we speak the truth, sincerity and integrity enter every relationship and interaction. When speaking the truth, be neutral, ask questions, be confident, kind and courteous. Truth sets everyone free. You, too.
LEO Your creative gifts and abilities are to be applied to daily life situations. Each day then becomes magical and transformed. Is there something new and different you would like to be doing in your life? Do you seek to be out and about in the wilds, serving the animal (bird or fish) kingdom, offering them food, shelter, medi-cine and comfort? Do you want to be elsewhere? Know you are here, needed right here and now.
VIRGO You seem to have new vital energy. You’re active, selfconfident, happy, purposeful and enthusiastic (filled with God). You’re so busy, there’s no time for relaxation. When not busy and working, count your blessings, notice how you’ve expanded into a new sense of self-identity and selfconfidence. It’s been growing all along. Notice too past life gifts are coming forth.
LIBRA A spiritual essence (message) begins to stream into your inner life. It ex-pands you and provides the gift of understanding. It is alleviating all judgments you may be carrying since childhood. Those judgments affect your present life and alt-hough you think you’re happy, the shadow of judgment is eventually projected upon those around you. Even in the best relationships. Forgiveness releases us in the same way truth does.
SCORPIO What expansion is occurring in your life? Does it feel like a revelation? What new direction is being taken and what sense of new self-identity? Is there a new focus and are there new activities pending? Everything’s changing for you. It’s not just your perception. Things you’ve sought eventually appear. Now all you have to do is begin to prepare without feeling overtaken, overwhelmed or dissolved. Remain poised no matter what occurs.
SAGITTARIUS Remember to do your daily outer and inner work with composure, poise and objectivity, exhibiting no pressure toward self or others. You are being watched (observed) as to your ability to create Right Relations, balancing leader-ship skills, friendships, keeping the two separate with finesse, elegance, grace and skill. This
is quite a job. You most likely already display all of this. Now more is called for. You are the ambassador of cultures.
CAPRICORN Many days, weeks and months of work reach a summit. If you look back on the autumn of last year, something began. Now it has reached a point of manifestation, of being seen in the world. Perhaps this is you, who is presently al-ways in a state of transformation and transfiguration. There are perhaps lots of thoughts concerning travel, going far away, experiencing new cultures, foods, people. Yes, soon you can go. There’s a place for you everywhere.
in between, a point of poise while also realizing life now is a “razor’s edge” of realities. Yes, it is. A crossroads has appeared. A decision, too. You need sensitive handling. Tend to yourself, your money and resources with great care. You reach out to family and bring everyone who is separated together. Some understand, some don’t. All’s well. Risa D’Angeles is the founder and director of the Esoteric & Astrological Studies Research Institute: Risa’s Esoteric Astrology. She can be reached at risagoodwill@gmail.com.
AQUARIUS Tend to your well-being, your happiness and also to money, all with great care. Put money away for future needs. Always do this second, when money comes in. Tithe with your money, first. This assures a constant supply of resources in terms of life needs. When we give, more is returned. Humanity is yet to learn this. That is the new materialism of sharing. You could be leading humanity in this endeavor. We say to you in times of stress, “Don’t worry, be happy!”

‘Fair Share’ Amendment Campaign Seeks to Win Voters’ Approval By Desert Star Staff Advocates for higher taxes on the top 1% of income earners are launching a campaign to get voter approval of the “Fair Share” Amendment, a tax on annual incomes of more than a million dollars that will be on the ballot in 2022. If passed, it would be a 4% tax on a person’s second, third, fourth million dollars earned, and so forth, but it would not affect people who make less than a million a year. Andrew Farnitano, the spokesperson for Raise Up Massachusetts, the group leading the campaign, noted the funds generated would go toward education and transportation, two areas he said have been underfunded in recent decades. “We’re not providing the resources that are needed to make sure that kids in every city and town get a good education, can go on to college and find a career,” Farnitano argued.

He pointed out students used to be able to work and have enough to pay for college. Still, inflation in college tuition and fees has made it impossible, and many graduates leave school with crushing debt that holds them back from experiences, ranging from starting a business to starting a family or purchasing a home. Farnitano added even with possible federal money for education and infrastructure, the Commonwealth needs a long-term sustainable solution. Californians Mark 40th Anniversary of AIDS Epidemic
The fight against HIV/AIDS continues, 40 years after the disease began to ravage American cities and towns. (Nito/Adobe Stock) By Desert Star Staff LOS ANGELES -- Forty years ago this month, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the first cases of what would
become known as HIV/AIDS and touch off an epidemic that took 32 million lives
across the globe and 700,000 in the United States. Rick Chavez Zbur, outgoing executive director of Equality California and a candidate for Assembly District 50 in the Santa Monica area, said Americans mustn’t forget the terrible toll of this disease. “I lost scores of friends literally to the disease and watched our government pretty much do nothing about it for over a decade,” Zbur recounted. “And so, as I think about the 40th anniversary, I think we need to remember all the people that were lost.” He added the massive loss of life and perceived inaction by the Reagan administration motivated groups like Equality California to help elect leaders who would take the disease seriously, including former President Bill Clinton, former Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. Today, HIV treatments make it possible for 38 million people worldwide
to live with HIV, including 1.2 million Americans. Chavez Zbur added he’s proud of California’s leading role in making new medications more accessible. “California is one of the states that insurance fully covers PEP and PrEP in MediCal,” Zbur pointed out. “And that’s not the case across the country, so we need to reduce the barriers for medication that can prevent HIV.” Advocates would also like to see the repeal of laws in eight states that criminalize the transmission of or perceived exposure to HIV and other infectious diseases, arguing the laws serve as a significant disincentive for people to get tested. Broadway Star Tovah Feldsuhuh Morphs Into “Becoming Dr Ruth” By Jack Lyons Theatre and Film Critic Member: American Theatre Critics Association (ATCA) Member: Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) North Coast Repertory Theatre (NCRT) of Solana Beach, CA, brings gifted, multiple award-winning actor Tovah Feldshuh to their stage to star in playwright Mark St. Germain’s breezy and delightful one-woman stage play “Becoming Dr. Ruth” in the platform streaming movie format. Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Ph.D., the diminutive (4’ 7”) munchkin-like, giggling, ‘grandma’ image and author of some 40 plus books on human sexuality became an overnight sensation back in 1980 with her open, fresh approach to the subject of sex. Dr. Ruth, as she is popularly known, is a licensed sexual therapist and grandmother. Call-in listeners to her 1980 radio show on station NYNY 103.5 FM in New York City would ask for her advice on personal sexual matters, which she discussed in an open, straightforward, professional medical manner. Listeners heard words they thought they would never hear coming from their radios. The popular show went viral when Dr. Ruth moved one year later from radio to America’s television screens, becoming; a worldwide celebrity in the process. Playwright Mark St. Germain was of the opinion that the life and career of the pixie-like German-born American citizen and holocaust
survivor would make for a wonderful uplifting stage play. He was absolutely correct, of course. “Becoming Dr. Ruth,” his stage play, is filled with drama, bravery, courage, wisdom, wit, tragedy and yes, comedy. All of the components necessary for a wonderfully poignant and compelling stage play for all to enjoy in its 2021 streaming movie format. In 2019, the uninvited pandemic guest of covid-19 forced brick and mortar venues to switch their productions from ‘live stage mounted’ to ‘streaming service’ in the movie format. NCRT has been a leader in the vanguard of presenting quality entertainment in Southern California both on stage and now in the pandemic era of streaming movie formats. All of their 39th season of productions have been presented in the movie-style format. But it appears that these restrictions are about to be lifted by California Governor Gavin Newsom on June 15, 2021. Stay tuned. The next step and challenge facing David Ellenstein, North Coast Rep Theatre artistic director - who directs “Becoming Dr. Ruth was to cast an actor who has the talent and skills to breathe life into St. Germain’s insightful and entertaining 90-minute play. Not to worry, Ellenstein’s search was a no-brainer. Actor Tovah Feldshuh is a theatrical force of nature in performance and a six-time Tony and Emmy nominee who, as Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Ms. Feldshuh, not only immerses herself literally into becoming Dr. Ruth (no pun intended)

Ms. Feldshuh’s mesmerizing performance as Dr. Ruth gives her audience a peek into the life of a holocaust survivor from the POV of a young girl to becoming a famous elderly celebrity whose personal philosophy of never giving in to the ups and downs of life; is what makes her performance so compelling to watch.
Director Ellenstein’s many clever directorial touches are so seamless that one is unaware of the movie being directed at all. The rapport between director Edelstein and Ms. Feldshuh is evidence of two pros doing their thing. One marvels at her stamina, range, and pace while we embrace and laud the vision of director David Edelstein. It’s great stuff. The technical team that makes the movie magic happen includes Aaron Rumley, as director of photography and co-camera operator along with Phil Korth and Chris Williams; Marty Burnett, Set Designer extraordinaire, transfers the Solana beach stage into a New York City Condo with a sweeping view of the Hudson
River from Dr. Ruth’s front room window that lends additional authenticity to this, at times, inspiring story about the celebration of life and the human condition. Costumes by Elisa Benzoni and Properties by Phil Korth; Wig designs by Peter Herman along with Camera operators Phil Korth, Aaron Rumley and Chris Williams, complete the technical film unit team. The Board Operator is Matt Fitzgerald. “Becoming Dr. Ruth” streams until July 11, 2021. For ticket information, go online to NorthCoastRep.Org It’s a must-see production! The NFL Play 60 camp will be held on Friday, July 2, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and is designed to educate, encourage, and empower youth grades 1st through 6th while learning proper skills and techniques from Alexander and other current NFL athletes. style combine and skills camp. Mattison is a San Bernardino native and a 2016 graduate of San Bernardino High School. The two-time allstate running back was named the county’s top studentathletes for his outstanding performance on the field and in the classroom. Alexander was a dual-immersion program student starting in the 1st grade and graduated with a seal of biliteracy. After rushing for back-to-back 2,000+ yard seasons for the Cardinals, Alex chose to accept a fullride football scholarship to Boise State University. There he led the Broncos in rushing before leaving college early to enter the NFL Draft. Selected by the Minnesota Vikings with their 3rd round pick,
Alexander has continued to shine on the national stage. Now he returns to San Bernardino to carry the torch of helping the same community from which he came from. Alexander is known in his hometown community as a superb athlete and an impressive role model for youth. “Giving back is just the right thing for me to do,” Alexander says. “I remember when I was a kid, so many positive figures gave to us, and now it’s my time to provide for the next generation.” The IAM GIFTED football camps are free of charge and open for all local youth ages six and up. Tips for Surviving the First 5 Years of Small Business Ownership
By Desert Star Staff What motivates entrepreneurs to become self-employed? How do they measure success? What’s their cutoff for profitability and self-reflection on status? A new survey examining these very questions provides important insights to small business owners and those looking to start their entrepreneurial journey. “The Tipping Point: Making the Jump to SelfMade” report from global small business platform Xero surveyed 1,200 small business owners nationwide and, among respondents, 58% gave themselves five years or less to make it or break it with newer businesses giving themselves an even shorter timespan on average. Here are some of the survey’s key findings, along with tips for surviving your first five years of small business ownership: 1. Define what success looks like: When they made the move to branch out on their own, 48% of small business owners defined success as achieving profitability, and 34% defined it as making more money than they were previously. Fast forward to the present with their businesses up and running and 28% of business owners cite creating a legacy as their success measure. Having tangible and intangible benchmarks of achievement can help you stay focused. 2. Know your “why”: According to the survey, one of the strongest motivators for starting a small business is the belief that it provides greater flexibility and control when you’re your own boss (45%). Passion/purpose in work (28%) and financial reasons (15%) were also strong motivators. Running a
business can be tremendously satisfying when you understand what your “tipping point” was for taking a leap of faith and venturing out on your own. 3. Be flexible: Twentynine percent of small business owners say the pandemic has increased their desire to run a business, particularly among younger business owners (43% of Gen Z vs. 18% of Boomers) and women (34% of women vs. 24% of men). But what do those businesses that thrived in the COVID-19 era have in common? “The majority of newer businesses have been set up on technology platforms and digitally enabled since their inception,” says Ben Richmond, US country manager for Xero. “They’re ready for and in many cases even expecting disruption, so they’ve established afoundation that’s open to pivots.” 4. Be realistic: While most business owners say they started their business for increased flexibility and control, being the boss doesn’t equate to less stress. In fact, that’s the biggest misconception about starting a business (47%). Another top misconception is that starting a business will be more fun than working for someone else (25%). Understanding the realities of entrepreneurship can help you avoid surprises, and ensure comfort in the role as it changes. 5. Lean on digital tools: When you’re a small business owner, it can often seem like there are never enough hours in the day. Using software that streamlines the nitty-gritty can free your time so it’s better spent on the big picture. For example, the cloud-based accounting software platform Xero gives small business owners and their advisors access to real-time financial data on any device. Its 2.45 million subscribers are
leveraging its array of tools that simplify tasks like paying bills, payroll, claiming expenses and sending invoices. To view the full report and for more information,
visit xero.com. “It’s certainly been an unusual year for business, but entrepreneurs are generally feeling positive about the economic outlook in the months
ahead. For enterprises still in the make-it-or-break-it period, that’s especially good news,” says Richmond. StatePoint

Signa Sports United Goes Public in $3.2B Merger By Desert Star Staff Major bike and tennis equipment seller Signa Sports United is going public to speed up its plans for industry domination. The SPAC merger values Signa at $3.2 billion and will raise $645 million from the SPAC itself and private investors. “There are not so many online sports retailers that are public at the moment. So, that gives us a good tool to foster and to accelerate possible acquisitions,” Signa CEO Stephan Zoll told FOS. The SPAC, Yucaipa Acquisition Corporation, is led by Pittsburgh Penguins’ part-owner Ronald Burkle. Burkle was the lead investor to bring an MLS team to Sacramento before pulling www.desertstarweekly.com
out during the pandemic. The company also announced the acquisition of the online cycling store Wiggle, which has around $500 million annual sales. Zoll said part of the motivation to go public via SPAC instead of IPO is that SPAC mergers allow for these sorts of concurrent acquisitions. • Based in Berlin, Signa Sports earns around 10% of its revenue in the U.S., primarily from its acquisitions of Midwest Sports in February and Tennis Express in May. • The company also has deals with the ATP to provide technology backing for its apps and online retail tied to Grand Slam tennis tournaments. Zoll sees Signa as having sports eCommerce market. a unique opportunity to “We are the largest and define the “very fragmented” pretty much the only real June 16, 2021

Indeed, the opening sortie “The Men Who Rule The World,” electro-goth graced “Waiting For God,” dance floor-ready “Godhead” and the title track are especially powerful songs that resonate in the here and now. Unvaccinated people made to pay $999.99 for Florida concert
By Desert Star Staff In St. Petersburg, Florida, an upcoming punk concert is charging attendees who are not vaccinated 55 times more for tickets than those who can prove they have been immunized against Covid-19. The concert, featuring bands Teenage Bottlerocket, MakeWar, and Rutterkin, will cost $999.99 for those who have either chosen not to be vaccinated or cannot get vaccinated. At the same time, those who provide proof of vaccination will receive a 98.2% “discount” that reduces ticket prices to just $18. Posters for the concert feature an image of ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ killer Freddy Krueger with needles for fingers, and the Leadfoot Promotions booking page advises attendees to bring their “COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card,” showing they have had two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. “If you buy one of these advance tickets and show up without your vaccination card or government-issued photo id, you won’t be let in at this price; you will need to pay the remaining $981.99 to enter or go back and get

your card,” organizers warn. The decision was made by concert promoter Paul Williams, who told ABC News that he wanted “to get the fence-sitters off the fence” and to “get their shots.” Critics, however, have argued that the pricing structure is unfair, with one punk fan telling ABC Action News that she was unable to get vaccinated because she had contracted Covid-19 too recently. “I think it’s terrible because not everyone can get the vaccine,” she said. Despite complaints, Teenage Bottlerocket member Ray Carlisle expressed no sympathy for the fan or others in a similar situation, telling them to “put together a Go-Fund-Me” so “all the other weirdo antivaxers. Can help support you going to Teenage Bottlerocket for a thousand dollars.” Though it is illegal for a Florida business to require proof of vaccination from customers and guests, after Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order prohibiting the practice, Williams is attempting to skirt the law by arguing that unvaccinated people will still be allowed in, just at the “full-price” of $999.99.

NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, benefi-ciary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and if applicable, the resched-uled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call (916)939-0772 or visit this internet website http://search.nationwideposting.com/ propertySearchTerms.aspx, using the file number assigned to this case CA2100286775 Information about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Website. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. NOTICE TO TENANT: You may have a right to purchase this property after the trustee auction if conducted after January 1, 2021, pursuant to Section 2924m of the California Civil Code. If you are an “eligible tenant buyer,” you can purchase the property if you match the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. If you are an “eligible bidder,” you may be able to purchase the property if you exceed the last and highest bid placed at the trustee auction. There are three steps to exercising this right of purchase. First, 48 hours after the date of the trustee sale, you can call (916)939-0772, or visit this internet website http://search.nationwideposting.com/propertySearchTerms.aspx, using the file number assigned to this case CA2100286775 to find the date on which the trustee’s sale was held, the amount of the last and highest bid, and the address of the trustee. Second, you must send a written notice of intent to place a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 15 days after the trustee’s sale. Third, you must submit a bid, by remitting the funds and affidavit described in Section 2924m(c) of the Civil Code, so that the trustee receives it no more than 45 days after the trustee’s sale. If you think you may qualify as an “eligible tenant buyer” or “eligible bidder,” you should consider contacting an attorney or appropriate real estate professional immediately for advice regarding this potential right to purchase. If the sale is set aside for any reason, the Purchaser at the sale shall be entitled only to a return of the deposit paid. The Purchaser shall have no further recourse against the Mortgagor, the Mortgagee or the Mortgagee’s attorney. ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE. “NOTICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this property lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 844-477-7869, or visit this internet Web site www.stoxposting. com, using the file number assigned to this case T.S.# 85404. Information about postpone-ments that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale.” For sales conducted after January 1, 2021: NOTICE TO TENANT: You may have a right to purchase this property after the trustee auction pursuant to Section 2924m of the California Civil Code. First, 48 hours after the date of the trustee sale, you can call (844) 477-7869, or visit this internet website www.STOXPOSTING. com, using the file number assigned to this case 85404 to find the date on which the trustee’s sale was held, the amount of the last and highest bid, and the address of the trustee. Second, you must send a written notice of intent to place a bid so that the trustee receives it no more than 15 days after the trustee’s sale. Third, you must submit a bid; by remitting the funds and affidavit described in Section 2924m(c) of the Civil Code; so that the trustee receives it no more than 45 days after the trustee’s sale. If you think you may qualify as an “eligible tenant buyer” or “eligible bid-der,” you should consider contacting an attorney or appropriate real estate professional immediately for advice regarding this potential right to purchase.
