New Apple iPhone Ripens Eagerly-Awaited Technology Looks Sweet, Won’t Bust Budget By Husain Sumra Coachella Valley smartphone fans and wannabe owners will be delighted to learn that Apple has just announced the lower-priced iPhone 5c, replacing the iPhone 5 in the company’s phone lineup. It will be available for preorder this Friday at $99 for 16GB and $199 for 32GB, with a two-year

contract. The new device, which uses the same A6 processor and rearfacing camera as the iPhone 5s, is available in five different colors — green, yellow, blue, white and red. “iPhone 5c is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features,” said Philip Schiller,

Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. “iPhone 5c is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand.” For sturdiness, the iPhone 5c incorporates a steel-reinforced frame that doubles as a multiband antenna. The phone’s enclosure

is a seamless structure with a durable glossy finish. To complement the all-new iPhone 5c design, Apple has created a microfiber-lined silicone case. This sleek, protective $29 accessory — available in grey, pink, yellow, blue, green and black — features unique circular patterns that let splashes of the

phone’s color show through. With five iPhone 5c hues and six cases to choose from, buyers can mix and match for dozens of fun color combinations. The new phone includes some upgraded parts, including a new front-facing FaceTime camera and support for additional long term evolution (LTE) wireless communication bands. Disco Tea Dance to Feature Singer Thelma Houston PALM SPRINGS – Veteran R&B singer, actress and Grammy Award winner Thelma Houston will give a special performance at the second annual Disco Tea Dance on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 5-10 p.m. poolside at the Saguaro Hotel, located at 1800 E. Palm Canyon Drive. The event is a benefit for AIDS Assistance Program. In addition to Houston’s performance, DJ Jerry Bonham of

San Francisco’s annual “Remember the Party” disco-era tribute will be spinning classic disco hits. “Last year’s inaugural event was wildly popular, and once we saw the huge crowds dancing the night away, we knew that we should make it an annual event,” said Mark Anton, Executive Director of AIDS Assistance Program. “Tea Dances have been popular in the LGBT community for many

years, especially in places like Provincetown and San Francisco, and we are proud to continue that storied tradition here in the desert.” A Mississippi native, Thelma Houston began her career in the 1960s as a gospel songstress with the Art Reynolds Singers. She then signed to Capitol Records in 1967 and had her first hit song, “Baby Continues on Page 11

The View from the Eagle’s Nest

By John J. Hunt Cabot Yerxa was born in Hamilton, N.D., on a Sioux Indian Reservation, in 1883. The family homestead was a single-room board cabin near the Canadian border. Though their surroundings were spare, they were surrounded by Native American lore, and it was this background that served Cabot in choosing his homestead site in the future Desert Hot Springs, when he had found potsherds (broken ceramic material) on the hill that he would claim as his own. As he said, “Good enough for Indians, good enough for me….” In my book “The Waters of Comfort (The Story of Desert Hot Springs, California),”

Cabot’s story continues: “It was just that simple. A sharp eye, a feeling for the native inhabitants, something he had acquired when he lived with the Sioux and Inuit; throw in a cursory grasp of geology. ‘This hill is not sedimentary like the others, but had been thrust up out of the earth surface in ancient times. Round about it are beds of red clay and blue clay from which Indians made pottery.’ “The hill also served as his first domicile. ‘My living on the desert was managed at first in a hole dug in a clay bank, with some palm leaves overhead. It had no floors, no door, no window, no bed and no table. I ate and slept on the ground in all weather.’ “It didn’t take him long to improve his conditions. ‘My first cabin, the Eagle’s Nest, was built in 1913.’ For this he acquired a burro, which he called Merry Christmas, and

Cabot Yerxa, (1883-1965), historically referred to as the Father of Desert Hot Springs, homesteaded land on Miracle Hill from 1913 to 1918, and later wrote a long series of articles about his desert experiences that were published the Desert Sentinel newspaper. Cabot’s Museum Foundation has reprinted that series of articles in a book, “On the Desert Since 1913,” which is available at the museum trading post and on their website. Here’s another installment from the historical book. (Introduction by Richard Brown, Cabot’s Museum Foundation Board Member)

and only one door. It may have been crude, but Cabot was proud of his achievement. ‘This Eagle’s Nest Cabin was the first stone building on

this side of the desert north of Palm Springs and the Southern Pacific Railroad.”

By Cabot Yerxa To harness Tom, I first must put a heavy chain round his neck from the next room, reaching in over the manger, then pull his head down by dragging the chain through a hole in the wall. By holding one ear very tightly, it was now possible to maneuver a bridle and bit into place. To get alongside the animal in the stall without being kicked into the next world and throw a harness on his back was a daily battle. Finally, when both mules were harnessed to the wagon, we were off for a joy ride with all the freight and supplies. They unharnessed fairly easy if tired. Two other, smaller mules . . . would run to the corner of the corral and stand with heads

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN FOR THE DESERT SENTINEL close together and kick anything that moved behind them. Going over the fence in front of their heads only caused them to run to another corner. Maggie was a white horse that ran away at any opportunity, out of the barn door, over the corral fence, with or without a wagon. It took much time to harness all these critters every morning. . . . But the big fun was when Tom and Mandy had to have shoes. As soon as I drove to

the little town of Fellows, out of Bakersfield, and stopped at the blacksmith shop, word went down the one street from saloon to saloon, barber shop, and general store. “Tom and Mandy are going to be shod”-and all unoccupied men gathered at the blacksmith shop to see the fun.

Disney Fetes Anniversaries of Three Animated Classics

By Theda Kleinhans Reichman Get ready to enjoy a trio of Disney feature-length cartoon goodies — this time, on Blu-ray, DVD and digital. And of course, in light of their source, they’re great entertainment for the whole family. “The Sword in the Stone: This tale a young orphan named “Wart and the extraordinary wizard Merlin is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The story turns on the legend that only someone with the purest character and inner strength would be able to pull the enchanted sword from the stone in order to claim the throne of England. The combo set has many bonus features with animated magic aplenty, such as a new alternative opening in which Wart meets Merlin. There’s also “Music and Magic: The Sherman Brothers and two bonus animated shorts, “Knight for a Day and “Brave Little Tailor, as well as a sing-along with the movie.

film

“Robin Hood: Marking its 40th anniversary with a Blu-ray release, this story concerns a dashing fox with a band of Merry Men who outwit the greedy Prince John. Robin also wins the paw of the very foxy Maid Marian. The package has bonuses galore, including the deleted storyline “Love Letters, an alternate ending, a cartoon short titled “Ye Olden Days starring Mickey Mouse, a Robin Hood Art Gallery and more. “Oliver & Company: Last, but by no means least, Disney recognizes the 25th anniversary of a beloved kitten named Oliver and his adventures to find a home. This deluxe Blu-ray combo pack is filled with fun and unforgettable songs by Billy Joel, Bette Midler and Huey Lewis.

Alert young readers will spot the similarities in this animal fable to Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist,â€? even though it’s set in the heart of New York City, not London. Oliver is befriended by Dodger, a carefree pooch, and his family of misfit mutts. When Oliver gets adopted by a lonely little girl named Jenny his life is wonderful, but things change when a tough dog named Sykes and his Doberman gang try to keep Jenney and Oliver apart. Voices you will recognize in this production are Billy Joel as Dodger, Cheech Marin as Tito, Dom DeLuise as Fagin and Bette Midler as Georgette. Bonus material includes two cartoons — “Lend a Paw,â€? which won an Oscar as best animated short in 1941, and “Puss CafĂŠ.â€? Several sing-alongs and a segment called “The Making of Oliver & Companyâ€? round out the package. Gather the kids around and settle in for a night of good, oldfashioned Disney enchantment.

Potent Indie Rockers Issue Intoxicating New Collections By Robert Kinsler Scottish indie champs Travis, super group the Prog Collective and Aussie hard rock trio Sick Puppies are featured on heady new collections now available in stores and online. Artist: Travis

Title: “Where You Stand” (Red Telephone Box) You might like if you enjoy: Coldplay, Keane Scotland’s original kings of melodic Britpop are back and better than ever. The band’s newlyissued “Where You Stand” is the group’s first studio effort since 2008’s harder-edged “Ode to J. Smith.” The good news for longtime Travis fans is that “Where You Stand” is full of the textured and pleasing melodies that made

early efforts such as “The Man Who” (1999) and the equally potent “The Invisible Band” (2001) memorable. Standouts on the new album include the U2-tinged “A Different Room” and the infectious title track. Info: travisonline.com.

Artist: The Prog Collective Title: “Epilogue” (Cleopatra Records) You might like if you enjoy: Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Nektar, King Crimson Anyone who thought progressive rock was a thing of the past should think again. The Prog Collective’s self-titled debut was a hit in 2012 and the super group is back with an even more ambitious follow-up, “Epilogue.” Featuring a who’s who of prog rock, the

music nine-track collection features Rick Wakeman and Chris Squire (both of Yes fame), Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Kansas), Alan Parsons, John Wetton (Asia), Geoff Downes (Asia), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater), actor-infamously earnest

vocalist William Shatner and many others. Peter Banks, the original Yes guitarist who died of heart failure at age 65 in March 2013, makes his final appearance here. Highlights on the disc include the rousing “Are We to Believe?” and dazzling “Shining Diamonds.” Info: www.amazon. com.

accessible third full-length album “Connect” takes no shortcuts when it comes to rocking, but the trio (singer-guitarist Shimon Moore, bassist Emma Anzai, drummer Mark Goodwin) isn’t afraid to use catchy choruses and big, bold riffs along the way. The opening track, “Die to Save You,” takes that approach — with a heavy initial groove that gives way to a heartfelt verse and gigantic chorus. “Walking Away” and the reflective “Under a Very Black Sky” also fuse their hard rock with a dose of pop to give Sick Puppies an edge over countless numbers of unsuspecting contemporaries. Local Case Suggests Growth in Identity Theft A case in point… Earlier this month, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department (PDPD) responded to the 72300 block of Highway 111 regarding two subjects inside a store concealing merchandise. Upon arriving at the location, the officers contacted Savina Hernandez, 31, and Michael Kumero, 34, both of Los Angeles. During the investigation, Hernandez and Kumero apparently lied about their identity and provided officers with fake identification cards. Further investigation revealed

that Hernandez and Kumero each had felony arrest warrants for theft and fraud-related offenses. Both were subsequently arrested. Officers, according to a PDPD release, found numerous counterfeit identification cards and credit cards in Hernandez and Kumero’s possession. During a search of Hernandez and Kumero’s rental vehicle, officers located several expensive items, which appeared to have been recently purchased. The Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit responded to assist in the investigation. Officers located hotel room keys belonging to Hernandez and Kumero, which then led officers to a room in Indian Wells. Officers responding to the room contacted an occupant, who was identified as Miguel Rodriguez, 21, of Anaheim. Officers obtained a search warrant for both the rental vehicle and hotel room in order to locate additional evidence related to this case. During the subsequent search, officers seized items associated with credit card fraud and identity theft inside the hotel room. Hernandez and Kumero were arrested for the

outstanding felony warrants, and additionally for commercial burglary and possession of stolen property. Rodriguez was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. All three subjects were transported and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Deputy Vasquez of the Burglary Suppression Unit, 760-836-1600, or report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP (7867).

comprised of seven of the sexiest men in California, will be stripping down to the bare minimum — with sponges and shammies in hand — at 490 Indian Canyon Drive, at the corner of Ramon Road. The star participants are being presented by SOIN

Studios and V25 Productions. The event is designed to advance BOO2Bullying’s cause and mission statement: “Artists awakening the world to the problems of hate and intolerance, and encouraging our youth to find their inner voice and speak their truth.”

INDIO – West Nile virus (WNV) continues to spread in the Coachella Valley, with eight additional mosquito samples testing positive for the virus this week in the eastern valley and one sample testing positive from Palm Springs. This brings the total count of WNV-positive mosquito samples in the Coachella Valley to 30 in 2013. Last year at this time, there were 107 WNV-positive mosquito samples. The positive mosquito samples were collected in the eastern valley from traps in the area bordered by 64th and 80th avenues and Buchanan and Hayes streets, and in Palm Springs near the intersection of Vereda Sur and North Via Miraleste. In response, the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District has intensified both its larval and adult mosquito surveillance and control in areas where WNV activity is on the rise. Residents can reduce their risk of mosquito-borne diseases

by following the 3 Ds of WNV prevention: 1. Dump/Drain – Eliminate standing water because that’s where mosquitoes breed. 2. Dusk/Dawn – Avoid outdoor activities when mosquitoes are most active. 3. Defend – Apply insect repellents with EPA-registered active ingredients such as DEET and Picaridin and wear longsleeve shirts and pants when outdoors. Utilize properly fitted and well- maintained screens on windows and doors around your home. Please contact the District at 760-342-8287 or 888-343-9399 to report mosquito problems, request mosquito fish, report neglected pools or standing water where mosquitoes breed, and report dead birds. Visit us online at www.cvmvcd.org to obtain more information and submit service requests.

Flight of Fancy Las Palmas mexican cuisine

Eclectic Art Exhibit Lands at John Wayne Airport By Pamela Price You have to be a ticketed passenger to gain entry to the remarkable art exhibit “JoanJoan-Joan: One Subject, Many Artists” at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. But you just might find it worth making a reservation on any flight. Now through Jan. 21, you can view all 190 portraits, photographs, collages and more depicting Los Angeles-based patroness of the arts Joan Quinn in the Vi Smith Concourse Gallery in Terminal A, across from Gates 2 through 5; in Terminal C, across from Gates 18 through 21; and in free-standing display cases across from Gate 14. The collection, featuring works by internationally renowned contemporary artists of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, ranges from Jean-Michel Basquiat pencil on paper to mixed media on

arts watercolor paper by Zandra Rhodes. Airline passengers must clear TSA in order to peruse the show, which presents “a visual timeline of a woman’s life” according to curators Amada Quinn Olivar, who is the subject’s daughter, and J. Cheryl Bookout. The impact is mesmerizing. You could even find yourself praying for a flight delay so that you can take your time savoring each artist’s impression of the inimitable Quinn — a television personality, the former Andy Warhol-appointed West Coast editor of Interview magazine and the longest-sitting member on the California Arts Council. Thanks to the airport’s arts program, this diverse exhibit

is a welcome and worthwhile distraction for travelers weary of departure terminals lined with fast food outlets. It affords “a glimpse of the friendships established and maintained over the last 50 years between Joan and the artists,” according the catalogue. Explanations offered by the artists about their works add to the observer’s overall enjoyment and appreciation. Joining the likes of artists Frank Gehry, David Hockney and Helmut Newton in the exhibit is Dimitri Halkidis , owner of Gallery 446 in Palm Springs. His charismatic black and white photograph of Quinn is a knockout. I n f o : o c a i r. c o m a n d johnwayneairport.org. Pamela Price has served on Cathedral City Public Art Commission since 2010. Luring the Artful Lodger Palm Springs Offers More Great Places to Stay and Play This Fall

Pool area at new hotel The Monroe in Palm Springs. PALM SPRINGS – As fall prepares to descend on the desert, a trio of new and renovated hotels are joining this city’s eclectic accommodations — offering hip, modern environments embracing the desert lifestyle that attracts

visitors from all over the globe. Anchored in the heart of downtown, the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs (hrhpalmsprings. com) is set to open Oct. 4 in the former location of Hotel Zoso. With the growing international attraction of the Coachella

Music Festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival, the Hard Rock Hotel will definitely meet the needs of guests seeking a “rock star” experience. The 163-room property — the brand’s second lifestyle hotel in Southern California — will offer

a new pool and outdoor space, VIP rock star suite, the brand’s iconic merchandise, and exercise and spa facilities, plus a live entertainment venue. F ro m re t ro i n n s t o Mediterranean-inspired villas, Palm Springs has a collection of over 70 small hotels and historic inns. The former owners of the Korakia Pensione are opening Sparrows Hotel (sparrowshotel. com), a 19-room ranch style getaway, on Oct. 1. The 1950s property, previously known as El Rancho Lodge, and has been completely overhauled and restored. Each room is adorned with its own outdoor fireplace and hand-built furniture, and the property’s original barn will be the focal point for communal dining and entertainment. Sparrows Hotel is located in South Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive near The Horizon Hotel, Desert Riviera, La Maison, and trendy resorts such as The Saguaro and Ace Hotel & Swim Club. A new hotel called The Monroe Palm Springs (themonroepalmsprings.com) officially opened its doors on Sept. 1 and has dropped its corporate flag as an America’s Best Value Inn. Following the trend of

modern mid-size hotels opening in Palm Springs, The Monroe has established a footprint when it comes to green practices. The new owners took the initiative during the renovation to recycle and repurpose as many of the materials throughout the property as possible — including the pool towel bins made from the window sills during the room renovation. The Monroe is pet-friendly and offers its guests complimentary Wi-Fi access, complimentary coffee and snacks, a laundry facility and complimentary hot breakfast at the neighboring Rick’s Restaurant and Bakery. In addition to the trio of hotels slated to open this fall in Palm Springs, there are four other properties that have been extensively renovated and newly introduced since last November, including The Skylark Hotel (formerly Camp Palm Springs), The Curve Hotel (formerly Travelodge Palm Springs), Random Haus Palm Springs (formerly Cambridge Inn) and Bearfoot Inn, a men’s resort. Recent property renovations include Hilton Palm Springs and Riviera Palm Springs. IVC FILTER INVESTIGATION • IVC (Inferior Vena Cava) filters are implanted medical devices, usually by interventional radiologists or sometimes by vascular surgeons, in order to prevent blood clots from reaching the lungs and heart.

• A significant number of certain types of defective IVC filters can cause serious health risks or death with or without prior symptoms. • The medical community and U.S. Food and Drug Administration have determined that leaving these filters in place for long periods of time may cause dangerous and potentially deadly complications and that these filters should be removed as soon as protection of blood clots is no longer needed. • The Inland Empire based medical product liability and consumer class action firm, McCuneWright, LLP, is investigating the dangers of the failure to remove these filters.

If you or someone you know has had an IVC filter implanted, whether it has been removed or is still in place, please contact McCuneWright at 909-557-1250 or visit our IVC filter website: www.ivcfilterlitigation.com

AAP Receives Grant

PALM SPRINGS – AIDS Assistance Program (AAP) has received a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $16,988 from the City of Palm Springs. The funds will be used to move 25 qualified clients from the organization’s waiting list to its food voucher program, which helps feed more than 500 people per month. This contribution covers part of the $30,000 annual cost of these 25 additional clients, and AAP

looks to the community to help fund the difference. “We are very appreciative that the City of Palm Springs is willing to support our mission of providing nutritional assistance to those in need,” said Mark Anton, executive director of AAP. “Thanks to this support, we are able to carry on our mission of feeding low-income neighbors living with HIV/AIDS.”

September 12-18, 2013 Astrological Forecast by Risa D’Angeles ARIES It’s important to begin to sharing resources. This will bring a deep and abiding healing and revitalization to all that you have and consider of value. It’s also important to have a dialogue, one of many, concerning what you and others share and value in common — deep intimate communications creating “new conversations.” Our futures depend upon this. Even if emotions flare up, choose to stay with the conflict until a new harmony is achieved.

TAURUS Tend carefully to your partner(s), whether in romance or at work. It’s also important you ask to be recognized more in close relationships. Know that everyone is willing to do more, to be more committed, to love more. Sometimes people need to be asked. Then everyone can adapt to the new needs, and negotiation and peacefulness emerge. For a time, at least — until the next needs come forth.

GEMINI Each day you must have harmonious environments, relations with others, order and organization, beauty and sociability. Everyone likes you because you always bring forth a sense of pleasure, a spirit of teamwork, humor, tactfulness, and an inner sense of joy. CANCER Everything seems to have heightened drama. All the kingdoms around you seem a bit more dramatic. They’re calling you to play, to rest, to put problems aside, and to love a bit more. Relations with children bring forth your creative self-expression. No matter how old we are, we’re always children to someone, somewhere, sometime. Fun is child’s play. Have fun.

LEO You realize how deeply you love home and family. When you enter your home and interact with family (people, animals, birds, plants, stars, etc.) you become more gentle, caring and receptive. For several weeks you remember the good things about your childhood. Nostalgia will seem to rule your days and nights. You attempt to create the peace, stability, beauty and consistency sought as a child.

VIRGO The wounds carried from childhood find healing in the home created now. People think you’re quite intelligent, cheerful, a good conversationalist. It’s important to communicate with others, seeking what interests and is of value to them. This way you discover like-minded others you can trust and with whom you can communicate. Diplomacy is also most important. You may be called to use all your mediating skills to sort out conflicts and help bring forth

According to the American Foundation for the Blind, every seven minutes someone in America becomes blind or visually impaired. Guide dogs, service animals, and assistance animals are helping their humans perform tasks, accomplish lifelong goals, embark on adventures, overcome debilitating mental illnesses, and safeguard military bases across the country and around the world. That’s why it is so important to recognize the service dogs who dedicate — and even risk— their lives to help human beings. Guide Dogs of the Desert is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that improves the lives of the blind by creating opportunities for life-changing independence, and by conducting community outreach and education programs. It offers safe mobility, loving companionship and the “miracle of independence” to the blind through the use of a guide dog. Guide Dogs of the Desert breeds, raises and trains dogs and then trains their blind clients to work with their custom-trained, hand-selected dog — at no cost. For more info, call 760-578-8869.

PALM SPRINGS – National Service Dog Month, a fundraising and awareness campaign held each September, is the perfect time to reflect on the roles service animals play in our lives. Formerly known as National Guide Dog Month, this annual tribute arose from a life-changing visit actor Dick Van Patten paid to Guide Dogs of the Desert in 2008. That visit, during which Van Patten went under blindfold with a guide dog, spurred the passionate animal advocate and founder of Natural Balance Pet Foods to launch a fundraising drive benefiting guide and service dog training schools throughout the country. The cause has since transformed into a celebration honoring the extraordinary work service animals do every day to help the people in their care. Celebrate National Service Dog Month 2013 the right way by considering a donation of your time or money to Guide Dogs of the Desert or your local service dog school. In October, Petco and Natural Balance Pet Foods will be launching a joint Helping Heroes campaign.

Since 1994, the sterilization surgery has required the signature of a medical official from the state capital for each and every instance. The papers obtained by the investigators suggest something much to the contrary, though, with records indicating that physicians contracted by the state earned $147,460 in local funds to perform those surgeries between 1997 and 2010.

By Jackie Devereaux PALM SPRINGS – The U.S. Supreme Court handed down a historic ruling on Wednesday, Jun. 26 to grant same sex marriages across the nation. In their ruling on DOMA and California’s Proposition 8, the justices overturned a previous lower court ruling which declared same sex marriage unconstitutional. Within minutes of the landmark ruling, local hoteliers and wedding planners scrambled to promote Palm Springs as a premiere wedding destination. “The Supreme Court’s

historic action today overturning DOMA and dismissing the appeal of California’s Proposition 8, clearing the way for same-sex marriage in our state is a huge victory for the LGBT community. This is about equal rights and I am gratified that the court has recognized that we are all the same,” said Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet. “My husband Christopher and I look forward to same-sex weddings commencing again in the state of California – and rest assured the City of Palm Springs will continue to be a destination committed to celebrating the

Local Men Charged in Vanderbilt Rape Case By Jackie Devereaux PALM DESERT - The attorney for one of the men charged with allegedly tampering with evidence in a Vanderbilt rape case said his client, Joseph Dominick Quinzio, 20, of Palm Desert, received a video of the alleged rape through his phone as a text message. Criminal Defense Attorney Brett Greenfield with the Los Angeles law firm of Kenner and Greenfield admitted that his client, Quinzio, “saw the video

and became very disturbed.” Quinzio, along with Miles Finley, 19, of Bermuda Dunes are friends of Brandon Vandenburg, 20, of Indio. The three young men played football together at Xavier College Preparatory High School in Palm Desert. Vandenburg was arrested for five counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery against an unconscious 21-year-old female Vanderbilt student. Vandenburg is also charged with videotaping the female victim

and passing on those videos to others. The alleged rape and video tapping took place on June 23 in Tennessee. Greenfield said the video was sent to his client. Quinzio and Finley both are charged with tampering with electronic evidence and scheduled to appear in separate courtrooms on Tuesday, Aug. 20 for extradition hearings. “He’s (Quinzio) being accused of somehow tampering with or destroying evidence, and

Jens, who speaks little or no English, was adopted by his stepfather at the age of 10 and only knows a little about his biological father from stories his mother told him through the years. “I’d like to know more

Nashville, Tennessee Metro police traveled to California in July to interview both Quinzio and Finley about their involvement with the cover up.
