2023 Saree Soirée of Sydney

Saree Enthusiasts, a Sydney based Facebook group completed five years of its existence.

It’s been an interesting and enjoyable journey since June 2018 when it all began.

2023 Annual Meet held on 29th July 2023 couldn’t have come sooner for its members. The energy, zest and camaraderie in the room was infectious and the 200 Saree clad women were one family for those few hours. Happy to see each other and hugged and laughed in delight.

It began with Helen Clarke, Director of Cultural Diversity & Justice at Knox Grammar, delivering an acknowledgement of country and the traditional lighting of the lamp was done by the troika: Shirley Jacob, my Ma Beenu Gupta, myself along with our very own fellow saree enthusiast and Chair of the Australia-India Business Council Jodi McKay and the CEO of Transplant Australia Chris Thomas.
