performed three lovely ghazals after that, accompanied by Mayank on guitar and Satyajeet Roy on Keyboard. Sobhan Ahmadyar, one of the students of Gurpreet also accompanied local artists on tabla.

In the second half, up-and-coming young talent Danvi Bhatt sang “Phero na Nazar se Nazaria” with her beautiful voice and received a big round of applause from the audience. Following her, local artist Seema Bharadwaj sang a few popular ghazals.

During her next 45 minutes, Amitav and Gurpreet once again captivated the audience with a soulful performance. The night was scheduled to end at 8:30pm, but the audience continued requesting for more ghazals until 9:15pm.

The concert was presented and managed by Shamira Entertainment in association with the “Indian Association of Newcastle”. The event was proudly supported by Cinestar Events, Chakras Performing Arts, House of Krishathi, Paramount Haulage with media partner Desi Australia, and mouth-watering catering partner was Colors of India.

No doubt, on a chilly Sydney night, this soulful ghazal concert provided much-needed warmth.
