Die-Pat Divisions welcomes new Managing Director st
On 1 April Simon Welch was appointed Die-Pat Divisions’ Managing Director. Simon joined the company as Product Sourcing Manager in 2007 and quickly moved to Director the following year prior to his formal appointment as Managing Director. Die-Pat owners, Christine Brander and Stuart Gleghorn, originally recruited Simon after luring him away from his role in corporate purchasing at Tesco. Simon was highly regarded at Tesco for his success in increasing the profitability of the ‘Loose Equipment’ division within the company. Simon also has a reputation for his dynamic approach and his desire to better serve the customer. Simon now brings his experience of corporate management, product management and customer service to take Die-Pat to the next level of growth. In particular Simon will be looking to work closely with customers and suppliers to broaden Die-Pat’s product range whilst identifying opportunities to improve service quality. Simon is also very much a family man with two children keeping him busy outside of work.

Doing something funny for money This year’s red nose day saw the Die-Pat team set about raising money for the charity whilst getting into the spirit of the day. Red noses, red clothes and red stickers were worn with all the staff donating money for the cause. This is the second charity event the Die-Pat team has organised in the last six months. Last October the team also got involved in the ‘Wear it Pink’ charity event on behalf of Breast Cancer Research by wearing a combination of fancy dress costumes and pink clothes and then taking to streets to collect donations and sell raffle tickets. Due to the generous donations from Die-Pat staff and the local people, the two events raised over £1,100 for the charities.
