Brand Identity & Menu Design
Goal: Re-brand an old Texan pizza shop, and turn it into a snazzy,up to date cafe, with a subtle, timeless vibe. Outcome: The use of a decorative, almost child-like font brings out the mod and cool factor; yet the rustic feel introduced by the wooden backgrounds, and use of a warm, burgundy color, tone down that aspect and bring out a contemporary feel to the cafe. In addition, I implemented a sprinkle of f lour on the wooden background of the menu to bring out a fresh brick-oven pizza, vibe.

Advertising
Goal : Create an ad for an experienced, personal trainer and fitness instructor. Outcome: The client requested an up to date, bold eyecatching ad that will attract todays 2019 audience. For the color scheme I used black as
the main color since that was the clients request, based on that I went with a neon yellow-green. Firstly, because it’s striking; secondly, green is associated with health, and yellow with excitement and youthful so mixing all that together we got the perfect color scheme.

Advertising Campaign
Goal : Create an advertising campaign for the Aviva Insurance Company. Outcome: We wanted to portray Aviva as an insurance company that pays those who claim insurance. I came up with the idea of using children, blatantly lying, comparing them to other insurance companies who claim to pay though really do not. In contrast to Aviva, whom you can trust 100% to cash your insurance claims.

Goal: Create a logo for Dynamic Speech Therapy, a speech therapy company catering to nursing homes and rehab centers.
Outcom e: Incorporating a silhouette with visual echoes into the D shows the speech aspect of the company. In addition, the client requested there be limited use of vibrant colors, so we went with gray and a periwinkle blue color which gave it some life, but was not too overpowering.

Corporate Identity
Goal: Create a corporate identity package for an interior designer, including a logo, letterhead, business card and envelope.
Outcome: For the business card, we used the window which
was used to dot the “i in the logo, as a secondary icon, and implemented it as a focal point. The letterhead and envelope, we kept them clean and simple, only stating important information besides for the use of a strip of purple as a design element.

Create a brochure for Carnival Cruise Line, a cruise line specifically geared to upscale, family o riented vacations. I chose a theme that portrayed fantasy, dreams and imagination which targets the family and kid-friendly aspect. In addition, the use of a warm color scheme using, deep yellows, reds and blues, introduced an upscale vibe to the cruise line making it appealing to adults as well.

Goal : Outcome:
Create a poster advertising a school production.
Since the setting of the play was the Ottoman Empire, we used a famous Turkish structure as the focal point of the design. In addition, the client requested we literally portray the title, by having a palm tree overlooking the castle. We implemented this request and added some extra greenery to the poster to tie it all together.

I used David Carson’s signature grunge, faded, blurred yet eye catching style of type, to state his famous quote “Never mistake legibility for communication”. In addition, when choosing a font, I went with sans serif to portray a 2019, modern style.
Magazine
Goal : Outcome:
Create a magazine cover, table of contents and a spread mimicking the Architectural Digest style. Since the assignment was to create a September issue; for the cover I gravitated to the browns which I incorporated into the design with a rustic style home. Then for some color, I added that small pop of fuchsia, which will catch anyones eye when passing the newsstand. For the spread, I went with a geometric style, which complements the architectural theme, and the usage of the signature AB font, for the body text, offered a sophisticated, modern style throughout.

....nothing is more utilitarian than a bridge

Beautiful
B RI DG ES By Nick Mafi
In the world of architecture, perhaps nothing is more utilitarian
than a bridge. Indeed, not only do these spanning structures allow us to safely pass over a gap, but unlike some skyscrapers and homes, everyone has access to using a bridge. And just because they are functional does not mean they have to be ordinary in design. In fact, it’s in bridges that some of the world’s biggest architects show what their creative minds are capable of. From the Zaha Hadid–designed bridge in Abu Dhabi, to perhaps the lesser known Khaju Bridge in Isfahan, Iran, AB rounds up some of the world’s most beautiful bridges. In function, they allow us to reach the other side of the divide. In form, however, they do something else entirely.
Singapore
At it’s highest point Henderson Waves bridge is just over 118 feet, making it Singapore’s tallest bridge. The modern pedestrian bridge is surrounded by the regions lush natural foliage. Designed by the U.S.-based firm RSP Architects, Henderson Waves bridge connects Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park.

Designed by the London-based WilkinsonEyre, the total length of the structure spans almost 2,600 feet, carrying pedestrians and cyclists over the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal.
Manhattan Bridge New York City, U.S.A.
When the Manhattan Bridge was completed in 1912, it took the Brooklyn Bridge’s place for the longest bridge in the city. Spanning some 6,855 feet across the East River, the Manhattan Bridge was designed by Leon Moisseiff. Today, hundreds of thousands of commuters use the bridge, crossing by automobile, subway train, bicycle, or on foot.
Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco, U.S.A.
Among the most recognizable structures in the world, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937. Conceived by architect Irving Morrow, the Art Deco-designed building was named one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Spread
The Charles Bridge, which was completed in the early 1400s, is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Built entirely of stone, the bridge nearly stretches 1,700 feet and is decorated with dozens of statues on both sides.
Millau Viaduct Creissels, France
Running through the valley of the River Tarn near Millau in southern France, the Millau Viaduct is the world’s tallest bridge, with a summit that rises some 1,125 feet above the base of the structure. Designed by architect Sir Norman Foster and structural engineer Michel Virlogeux, the bridge opened in 2004.u

Create a postcard for the chessed heads of BYHS, which they mail out before the school year, getting the girls excited to begin the school year and encouraging them to sign up for the schools fabulous chessed program. For the overall design we decided on an illustrative, cartoon look which I did primarily using the pen tool in Illustrator. For the color scheme we went with bright, eye-catching turquoise and green with pops of reds, giving off an exciting and colorful impression. In addition, for the characters, I drew them wearing the schools’ mandatory uniform, giving the card a unique and personal flavor.

Goal : Outcome:
Create a book cover for Israel Bookshop publishers, with its target audience being teenage girls. For the color scheme, I went with different shades of purple, turquoise, pink and gold, coming together in a soft, beautiful style, attractive to girls. Since, one of the themes seen throughout the book is the power of song, and the title is “ Song of the Sea I color burned musical notes into the waves to give the effect of a singing sea. In addition, the concept of a singing sea comes from whales, so I implemented that too, into the design.
