Η HP επέστρεψε στην αγορά κινητών τηλεφώνων παρουσιάζοντας στο Mobile World Congress της Βαρκελώνης το Elite X3. Πρόκειται για ένα phablet που διαθέτει οθόνη 6 ιντσών, υποδοχή dual SIM, αποθηκευτικό χώρο 64GB επεκτάσιμο με εξωτερική κάρτα microSD στα 200GB, μνήμη RAM 4GB, επεξεργαστή Snapdragon 820 και κάμερα 16MP. Τρέχει με Windows 10 και, όπως υποστηρίζει η HP, με ένα ειδικό εξάρτημα μπορεί να μετατραπεί σε υπολογιστή Windows 10. Αυτό επιτρέπει στον χρήστη να συνδέσει το phablet με εξωτερική οθόνη, πληκτρολόγιο και ποντίκι. Παράλληλα, η εταιρεία παρουσίασε το Mobile Extender HP, συσκευή-σύντροφο του X3 η οποία το μεταμορφώνει σε laptop. Το Mobile Extender διαθέτει δική του μπαταρία, πληκτρολόγιο και οθόνη 12,5 ιντσών. Η επίσημη κυκλοφορία του Elite X3 στην αγορά αναμένεται στις αρχές του καλοκαιριού. The Elite X3, presented at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress, marks HP’s return to the mobile phone market. The 6-inch phablet is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and features a dual SIM slot, 64GB storage expandable through a microSD card to 200GB, 4GB of RAM and a 16MP camera. It runs Windows 10 and, as the company claims, can be converted into a full Windows 10 PC with the use of the company’s special accessory. This allows the user to connect the phablet to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. At the same time, the company also presented the Mobile HP Extender, a device that has its own battery, keyboard and 12.5-inch screen, transforming the X3 into a proper laptop. The official release of the Elite X3 is expected in early summer.

Το νέο κινητό της ιαπωνικής εταιρείας έχει ανθρωποειδή εμφάνιση, περπατάει, θυμάται, τραβά φωτογραφίες και ενημερώνει τον χρήστη για νέα μηνύματα. Ονομάζεται RoboHon και κατασκευάστηκε σε συνεργασία με τον καθηγητή ρομποτικής Tomotaka Takahashi. Χρησιμοποιεί λειτουργικό σύστημα Android, έχει ύψος 19,5εκ. και ζυγίζει σχεδόν 400γραμμ. Διαθέτει οθόνη 2 ιντσών και οθόνη αφής, μπορεί να απαντά μόνο του σε τηλεφωνικές κλήσεις, να προβάλλει βίντεο από το κεφάλι του και να ανταποκρίνεται σε φωνητικές εντολές. Το ρομπότ είναι εξοπλισμένο με ειδικό λογισμικό αναγνώρισης φωνής και προσώπου, γεγονός που προσφέρει στον χρήστη τη δυνατότητα να μιλάει στο τηλέφωνό του και να του λέει απλώς τι θέλει να κάνει. Βέβαια, πρέπει να μιλά ιαπωνικά καθώς, για την ώρα, αυτή είναι η μοναδική γλώσσα που καταλαβαίνει.

Sharp’S robot-phone

The Japanese company’s new mobile phone boasts a humanoid appearance, and can walk, remember, take pictures and notify the user of new messages. It’s called the RoboHon and was built in cooperation with robotics professor Tomotaka Takahashi. It uses an Android operating system, has a height 19.5cm and weighs almost 400grams. It has a 2-inch screen as well as a touchscreen and can answer phone calls on its own, project videos from its head and respond to voice commands. The robot is equipped with specialized voice and facial recognition software, which gives the user the ability to simply give voice orders to his smartphone. Of course, one would need to know how to speak Japanese, as it is the only language the robot understands, at least for the time being.

Η νέα συσκευή της Microsoft υπόσχεται τόσο τεχνητή πραγματικότητα -με την εισαγωγή ολογραμμάτων στον πραγματικό κόσμο- όσο και εικονική. Πρόκειται ουσιαστικά για έναν αυτόνομο υπολογιστή, που δεν χρειάζεται σύνδεση με κινητό ή PC και καταργεί τη χρήση καλωδίων. Τρέχει με Windows 10, ενώ η οθόνη του είναι κατασκευασμένη με τρεις επιστρώσεις γυαλιού σε κόκκινο, πράσινο και μπλε χρώμα προκειμένου τα ολογράμματα να εμφανίζονται στη σωστή απόσταση. Για κάθε φακό διαθέτει κάμερα 120 μοιρών και οι αισθητήρες του διαθέτουν CPU, τσιπ γραφικών και HPU. Ο χρήστης μπορεί να βλέπει τηλεόραση, να έχει πρόσβαση στο Internet και να παίζει παιχνίδια εξ αποστάσεως ενώ, μέσω της χρήσης του HoloStudio, τα εικονικά αντικείμενα αλληλεπιδρούν με τις κινήσεις των χεριών. Microsoft’s new device promises both artificial reality -with the introduction of holograms to the real world- and virtual reality. It is essentially a standalone computer that doesn’t require a connection to a mobile phone or PC, eradicating the need for cables. It runs Windows 10, while its lenses are made of three glass coatings in red, green and blue, ensuring that the holograms are displayed at the correct distance. Each lens has a 120-degree camera and its sensors feature a CPU, GPU and HPU. The user can watch television, access the Internet and play games remotely, or interact with virtual objects through hand gestures with the use of Microsoft’s HoloStudio.

Η ωρολογοποιία παρουσιάζει το νέο έξυπνο ρολόι που θα προστεθεί στη σειρά Horological Smartwatch, την οποία λάνσαρε πέρυσι. Απαράλλακτο ως προς τον μηχανισμό και τις λειτουργίες με τον πρόγονό του, το νέο μοντέλο είναι εξοπλισμένο με έναν μηχανισμό, που έχει κατασκευαστεί σε συνεργασία με τη Motion X και μπορεί να τροφοδοτείται επί δυόμισι χρόνια από μια μπαταρία ρολογιού, χωρίς να χρειάζεται φόρτιση κάθε ημέρα. Πρόκειται στην ουσία για ένα νέο είδος smartwatch, χωρίς οθόνη, με εξωτερικά μέρη κατασκευασμένα όπως σε όλα τα άλλα ρολόγια. Στην κορώνα υπάρχει ένα κουμπί που ξεκινά ή σταματά μια μέτρηση. Το νέο μοντέλο έχει κάσα διαμέτρου 42mm από επιχρυσωμένο ατσάλι. Το καντράν και το λουράκι από δέρμα αλιγάτορα που φοράει είναι σε σκούρο μπλε χρώμα.

The brand presents a new smartwatch that will become an addition to the Horological Smartwatch line which was launched last year. Unchanged as to its movement and functions compared to its predecessor, the new model is equipped with specialized technology developed in collaboration with Motion X and can be powered for two and a half years by a single watch battery, without needing to be recharged every day. It is in essence a new kind of smartwatch, with no display and with external parts built as if it was a conventional watch. The dial shows hours and minutes with centrally placed hands, while a sub-dial at 6 indicates the state of completion of a measurement that has been set by the owner through the MotionX-365® app, which is Android and iOS compatible. The measurement can be initiated or stopped with the use of a button on the watch’s crown. The new model has a 42mm case made of gold-plated steel, with a navy blue dial and matching alligator leather strap.

It awakens him when he’s been inactive for more than an hour, while it also offers information on sleep quality and duration. It’s compatible with the company’s H7 transmitter which monitors the user’s heart rate and notifies him on calories burned or improvements of his physical condition. The user can view his progress through the Polar Flow web online service or on his phone, through the Polar Flow app.
