SPRING’S UNMISSABLE INTERIORS EVENT Channelling a rising spirit of individuality and creative expression, London Design Week 2018 is this season’s most anticipated and influential interiors event. This year’s programme of 100+ free events is unmissable. Expect meet-the-designer talks and presentations, demonstrations of exceptional artisan skill, behind-the-scenes glimpses at how collections were conceived and insights on the latest design directions in the showrooms. Specially commissioned installations and a mouthwatering menu of food and drink complement the events programme and make Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour a buzzing destination where designers, innovators and style-seekers come together. The most talented names in the industry will be sharing their stories, ideas and creative vision. On the main stage, Conversations in Design excels with a stellar line-up of highcalibre speakers. Meanwhile, a new initiative, ‘Legends’, sees showroom windows and showcases get the VIP treatment thanks to some highly imaginative collaborations. We hope that it serves as a voyage of discovery around the showrooms, including the much-expanded space in Design Centre East. We continue to grow and evolve, but London Design Week 2018 offers a moment of pause, to take a snapshot of the wealth of talent to be found here. FROM TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES TO PIONEERING PROCESS Rubelli/Donghia Ground Floor, Design Centre East Rubelli Venezia’s design studio director, Alberto Pezzato, and UK director Vivienne Griffin will host an interactive workshop to celebrate both the traditional and innovative new techniques behind the 2018 launches. Trace the story of the collection from initial ideas and inspirations, to concept drawings and the painstaking process of fabric trials to create entirely new textures and effects. READY TO BE SHOCKED Shock London Third Floor, Design Centre East Shock London is an alternative curated presentation by Steven Payne of Maison AD and Laura Pivetta of ArteMea Advisory, featuring rare works by artists and furniture makers from Paris and London. Come for a cocktail reception and meet street artist Endless who has specially created a mural for the pop-up, as well as other talents behind the furniture on display. The aim is to shock, showing an alternative way of presenting uniqueness in terms of location, artists and designers; to educate your eyes to a new way of decorating your home by making it personal and individual to you. 123

BEHIND THE SCENES Perrin & Rowe Third Floor, North Dome To tell the company’s made-in-Britain story and highlight the craftsmanship and quality behind the designs, Perrin & Rowe will be hosting an interactive workshop in the new showroom. Get hands-on and build a tap and enter a moodboard competition for a chance to win a prize.

TILE PAINTING WORKSHOP Artisans of Devizes Third Floor, Design Centre East Turn your hand to the traditional craft of tile painting with Artisans of Devizes. Be inspired by the colour, pattern and design of London Design Week 2018. Once completed, the tile will be returned to the potter to be cured and glazed, and sent back to you as your own bespoke creation.

11.30am –12.30pm CONVERSATIONS IN DESIGN PASSPORT TO DESIGN INSPIRATION Design Club, Third Floor, South Dome Three globe-trotting interior designers – Christopher Jenner, founder of his eponymous studio, Linda Boronkay, design director for Soho House and Jo leGleud, cofounder of multi-disciplinary practice Maddux Creative – talk to lifestyle journalist Fiona McCarthy about how international travel helps bring integrity and character to a creative vision. From discovering local world-class artisans to commissioning collections inspired by exceptional craftsmanship unique to a particular region, expect fascinating insights into creating spaces of individuality, imagination and authenticity. 2pm FLORAL MASTERCLASS Zimmer + Rohde Ground Floor, North Dome Join Rob Van Helden, one of London’s top florists, for a unique floral masterclass. Known for his natural style, he creates breathtaking floral designs for clients including Sir Elton John and Pierce Brosnan, as well as royal weddings, film premieres and charity events. Learn about his design aesthetic and discover why he turns each event into a one-of-kind experience, enhancing and expressing moods with flowers.
