The Superyacht Design Forum
Book Launch Celebrating 25 years of iconic yachts, people and innovations North Dome, Tuesday 26 June, 17:30 - 19:00 The past 25 years have been the most formative of an incredible journey for our burgeoning industry. In 1992 there had been a little over 1,500 30m+ yachts delivered; today that number has more than tripled, approaching 5,500 yachts if we include those currently in build. It was in 1992 that both The Superyacht Group and MB92 took their first tentative steps, forming what today you know respectively as the leader in superyacht publishing and intelligence, and one of the world’s leading refit and
repair centres. To celebrate our joint anniversaries, The Superyacht Group and MB92 partnered to create Superyacht25 - a unique, limited edition book that collates some of the iconic yachts, innovations and key people who have helped propel our industry to where it is today. We have added to this a wealth of incredible images, many of which have never been seen before in print. Superyacht25 is a special book to savour, to dip into at will and to treasure for years to come.

Foreword Welcome to Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour
Action, Not Words
The world of superyachts presents the ultimate wish list – the most luxurious and innovative designs to make your heart beat a little faster. Success is not founded on chance, it is almost always the result of clear concepts, great creativity and clever ideas. At The Superyacht Design Forum this year, an exciting dialogue will take place to inspire next-generation thinking. The packed programme is compelling; the experience highly immersive. For this ever-evolving industry sector, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour has become an important design hub. Expansion has been a defining feature lately and we continue to grow and evolve, championing the best
Welcome to The Superyacht Design Forum (TSDF), our new consolidated superyacht design event, held in the renowned Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. With so many barely distinguishable superyacht market events squeezed into the calendar year, we felt it was time to create something focused, innovative and truly worth attending.
in international design talent. With 120 showrooms and over 600 international brands, this event provides an opportunity to discover specialist expertise and design diversity unseen anywhere else. Engage with established makers and luxury brands to find sophisticated designs that meet the exacting standards demanded by the marine marketplace. Details like impeccable materials and finishes are at their best close up, so learn more about high performance products in person. Bespoke products are another forte, with many companies able to create pieces tailored to you and you alone. What you will see and hear in the next two days is only the start; the destination is the superyachts of tomorrow. We’re delighted to be working closely with The Superyacht Group on this dynamic event.
CLAIRE GERMAN MANAGING DIRECTOR DESIGN CENTRE, CHELSEA HARBOUR
Over the next two days we’ll tackle the market’s most pressing design issues, as well as explore some that are seldom considered, and contemplate how best to elevate the superyacht industry and secure its future. Times are changing, yesterday’s successes are tomorrow’s failures and we must all strap ourselves in, accept that there is much to learn, and try to enjoy the ride.
For too many years the same discussions have produced too little by way of tangible results, be it a change in practical approach or a change in attitude. This year’s TSDF mantra is ‘Action, Not Words’; we will set out plans for the future that can be exercised practically, not just in theory. That being said, change is rarely catalysed by those who are unmotivated or unenthused. Interactivity and entertainment are cornerstones of creativity, and our aim is for all those in attendance to be involved in enjoyable and inspiring sessions. TSDF is not about listening to the same story from the same faces. If you have an opinion, share it. It’s time to shake up the conversation and be at the helm of progress. Rather than sitting idly by, we are calling for all in attendance to engage in progress and affect some much-needed change. So, get involved and help lay the foundations for the future of superyacht design.
