Our Design Process Starting with a comprehensive research and development process, JACO products are designed to improve the quality of care delivered to patients while at the same time addressing the diverse needs of healthcare professionals. By listening to our customers, we gain a complete picture of their clinical workflow process and how our products can enhance their experience and streamline activities to provide the best performance available. After gathering all of the critical information, we develop design concepts and work with our industrial design team to bring to life the technologies that will properly address all of the identified requirements. Our next step is to take the design concepts and translate them into Computer Aided Design (CAD) models. Our experienced CAD Engineers build the 3-D models and simulate product motion to assure proper ergonomic design and overall product function prior to physical part fabrication.
Once the CAD model is refined, we will render visual models of our products to view complete high-resolution images in order to identify opportunities for design enhancement. Our rigorous design review and refinement process reduces costs associated with prototype fabrication and accelerates our time to market with new technologies. Leveraging our world-class automated fabrication equipment, we build working prototypes of all new products. We do this alongside our released product lines to identify areas of improvement in product design, manufacturing efficiency and in overall quality. Our industrial designers and CAD engineers will work directly with our fabrication technicians to review the prototypes every step of the way to enhance the products. Often times there are several prototype revisions fabricated in order to get the product ready for a pre-released product review with end users.
Understanding the most critical part of the design review process is our customers’ feedback; we take our products to the market and listen carefully to their product trial feedback. We then take that information back to our product development team and devise solutions to the areas needing improvement as we continue to refine the design. Repeating this process until we get it right, JACO believes there is always an opportunity to continue to improve our solutions to positively impact the quality of patient care. In addition, we are always working to drive cost out of our products, so we can provide the most affordable and highly reliable technology on the market.
