Summerville “Cheers to You” Town

The Summerville Parks & Recreation Department was recently chosen by Sparkling Ice and Talking Rain as a recipient of their “Cheers to You” town beautification project. Only 1 of 3 towns chosen, Summerville was able to build 2 outdoor pickleball courts which has provided pickleball enthusiasts a place to play outdoors.

Keeping Greenville Green

#PlantGVL Keeping Greenville Green: The City of Greenville Parks Department gave away over 200 bare-root saplings to residents during two different events. Since all the normal holiday parties and events were cancelled due to COVID-19, the Spartanburg County Parks Department came up with a new and different way to safely celebrate the season. They made and handed out nearly 2,000 DIY Christmas Ornament Kits. Each kit had all the ingredients children needed to make their own salt dough ornaments, and they were a huge hit!

Drive in Bingo Days in Greer

The City of Greer hosted several FM Radio Drive in Bingo Days for Seniors. This concept allowed local seniors to remain safely in their cars while the BINGO game was transmitted through a station on their car radio. They enjoyed the opportunity to get out in the community safely.
