Dear Patrons:

STRATEGIC IMPERATIVES Broad, expected outcome statements have been defined for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra to guide its strategic process.

On behalf of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, it is an honor to present to you a transformational strategic plan. This initial process began in 2010, and is being implemented now through the 20132014 season. Musicians, board, staff, volunteers, patrons and community members participated with equal voice and a collaborative spirit. This process was essential in understanding how the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra is perceived by various constituencies. At the heart of this process were important questions of what the Orchestra’s mission, vision and values should be for the future, and how to make the Jacksonville Symphony an even more relevant community asset. From this process, a new mission statement was created: To create experiences that enrich the human spirit and inspire a lifelong love of music. The Jacksonville Symphony must navigate through many challenges in the years ahead. To thrive artistically while maintaining financial equilibrium is one of the foremost challenges. Of equal importance is the mandate to be relevant in an era of constant change, focused on patron relationships and community needs. Implementing this Strategic Plan requires the same collaborative effort utilized in the initial process. The Jacksonville Symphony appreciates your trust and support and we invite you to learn more about our strategic vision in this brochure. We look forward to working with you – and for you – to ensure that the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra continues to shine as a beacon for Northeast Florida. Sincerely,

Stacy Ridenour Executive Director
