ESSENTIAL RESOURCES FOR SHOPPING, SOURCING, AND DISCOVERY
HOW HIGH POINT VETERAN
LIBBY LANGDON MAKES
THE MOST OF MARKET — AND YOU CAN, TOO
“So many of us say, every six months, ’I can’t believe High Point Market is here again. Weren’t we all just here a few weeks ago?’” says DLN Member (and certifiable market expert) Libby Langdon. “Time does fly, but HPMKT seems to be the constant that creeps up sooner than we can ever imagine.” Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, Libby returns every April, where she showcases the collections she designs for Fairfield, Crystorama Lighting, Paragon Wall Decor, and A&B Home. “In addition to meeting buyers and retailers in the showrooms with my products, I go to HPMKT to expand my interior design resources, and to discover the latest trends in the home furnishings industry,” she says.
So how does she milk each market? Libby maps out her shopping in advance, grouping areas together to consolidate her timing. Instead of getting tear sheets for everything she likes, she snaps quick photos and files them away to use throughout the year. “Use the pictures from HPMKT the rest of the year to show clients,” she suggests. “It’s all presented beautifully, and shows everything stylishly in a room setting, rather than just a catalog picture with a plain white background. It also lets our clients know that I saw the piece in person, that I was able to kick the tires and experience the quality.” That personal touch, she says, helps her to sell these items to her clients. It also serves to prove her value in being able to access trade only resources.
Libby’s new favorite part of HPMKT? She loves the newly added Shoppe Object, on the third floor of Market Square, a North Carolina adaptation of the popular New York trade show. “It’s small booths of 100 artisans, visionary brands, and makers of cool, curated items for the home,” she says. “I can’t tell you how many new companies I’ve started working with that I’ve discovered here.”
Mark your calendars now for Fall Market

MAISON & OBJET ’ S FALL THEME SPEAKS TO THE CONNECTION BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY
Inspired by this season’s theme, TERRA COSMOS, trend experts Elizabeth Leriche and François Delclaux created immersive vignettes to tie the concept to decor and retail, respectively. The two creatives curated materials, textures, patterns, colors, and gradations to create an immersive experience: five spatiotemporal capsules that reflect the interplay between planet and stars. This interstellar theme served as backdrop for the show’s What’s New? In Decor and What’s New? In Retail installations.

MCOX LONDON any of Cox London’s creations begin as one off sculptures and showpieces. Nicola and Chris Cox work with clients to reimagine pieces from their extensive collection to inhabit, honor, and enhance specific spaces. From entirely bespoke projects to customizations, each piece is thoughtfully considered in sketches or sculpted wax. Before being housed in its unique crate for delivery— a design feat in its own right—the piece journeys through Cox’s seven workshops in London taking form. From fabrication and foundry to patination, specialist artisans meticulously focus on their individual crafts, transforming these works into future heirlooms. Designed specifically for the entry hall of the Park Avenue Armory in New York, The Magnolia Grandiflora made its debut at the Salon Art + Design Fair. Meticulously handforged in iron and adorned with delicate cotton Magnolia blossoms, this striking chandelier brought the untamed beauty of nature into the iconic New York landmark. Shown at an impressive 12 feet tall and nine feet wide, the piece can be tailored to the unique proportions of any space. Since its inception, numerous variations of The Magnolia Grandiflora have been crafted for interior designers and private clients around the world.
THE LIESL SUITE REIMAGINES HARDWARE
Since 2001, Hamilton Sinkler has provided a distinct vision when it comes to architectural hardware. In collaboration with artists, the New York City based company produces innovative hardware for doors and cabinets, making them one of the most sought after puveyors. Now, DLN Member Andrea Monath Schumacher has collaborated with Hamilton Sinkler on The Liesl Suite, a new hardware collection that reimagines the ironmongers’ clavos as hardware. These sturdy, brass toned pieces are strong and detailed, a balance of beauty and clarity of vision in design.
The Liesl Collection reflects Andrea’s rich and sumptuous style, evident in both her interiors and her line of wallcoverings. Hardware, as she sees it, is the perfect addition. “I have always maintained that decorative hardware is the jewelry that adorns a home,” says Andrea. “With this belief at heart, I sought inspiration from the luxury design houses of Europe. Drawing from the confluence of fashion, architecture, art and interior design, my vision was to craft something that not only made a bold statement, but that also elegantly transcended the passage of time. Each piece in this collection reflects a balance of luxury and style, adding a touch of elegance to any space.”

MOSAICS INSPIRED BY VENICE
Venice pulses with inspiration, from its timeless Piazza San Marco to its Byzantine mosaics and Gothic palazzi. From the city’s aesthetic touchstones emerges New Ravenna’s San Marco collection, an homage to the Floating City. Jacquelyn Bizzotto has designed 10 new patterns, capturing the artisanal elements that are synonymous with Venice. She has reinterpreted traditional Venetian design—geometric shapes, gilded accents, Venetian lace, marble terrazzo, decorative stucco—into an opulent and beautiful collection.
The individual patterns within the San Marco collection capture the city’s centuries old craftsmanship and artistry. Through the use of marble, quartzite, limestone, travertine, glazed basalto, and basalto orvieto, each tessera, honed or polished for a textured patina, reflects the distinct luxury of the city and New Ravenna’s artisanal expertise. Mosaics shimmer with the use of 24 carat gold glazed Aurum, a nod to the city’s enduring shine.
Margherita is a reconceptualization of the daisy, immortalized in marble just as it is in so many ancient Venetian floors.

INTRODUCING THE STOCKBRIDGE COLLECTION
Vaughan’s newest product introduction, the Stockbridge Collection, is inspired by an historic village in Hampshire, England, near the headquarters of the company founded by Lucy and Michael Vaughan in 1983. Situated on the River Test, Stockbridge’s name comes from the town’s original bridge, crafted from tree trunks laid across the river. With roots dating back to the 13th century and a quaint town surrounded by rugged terrain, the town is the perfect influence for a brand beloved for creating forwardthinking interpretations of historical designs. The Westbourne Table Lamp, shown here, is cast in earthenware, then covered with a bold crackle glaze for a textural effect. It’s at once historically minded and fabulously modern, with a thoughtful attention to artistic detail; the best of Vaughan personified.
THE LUCA COLLECTION, INSPIRED

Designed to be both visually engaging and supremely comfortable, every line and curve of the Luca Collection balances industrial design principles with elegant artistry.

These launches—the Mawley, Algernon, Baird, Roxburghe, and Briggs designs—are specifically tailored to showcase their specimen marble. Jamb chimneypieces are produced from blocks of exclusive Breccia Medicea, Arabescato Viola, and Portoro Nero, and arrive sourced from ancient Italian quarries. Carved by stone masons and draftsmen, the result is a collection of reproduction chimneypieces that borrow from the 18th century masters.

A highly textural collection combining intricately woven rope, deep cushions, premium teak, and Carrara marble, this 10 piece collection comes in two neutral, monochromatic colorways: Fossil, and Cocoa. THE BON AIR DINING TABLE
Influenced by 20th century French modernist design, McKinnon and Harris’s Bon Air dining table—a new addition to the outdoor furniture maker’s collection— maintains a timeless aesthetic. Fashioned from high performance aluminum and topped with stone, the Bon Air is elegantly proportioned, with a stepped foot that offers the illusion of weightlessness. The table’s name honors not only its French heritage, but also the historic weekend retreat frequented by urbanites outside of Richmond, Virginia, where the company is based. That place, Bon Air, was a resort getaway where visitors could indulge in “good air,” good architecture, and the goodness of surrounding nature.

CHUBB LEVERAGES DLN
COLLABORATION FOR STANDOUT PRESENCE AT ART BASEL
When DLN Partner Chubb signed on to host a space in the VIP lounge at Art Basel Miami Beach last year, the company wanted to do something to stand out from the crowd. “In the past we had showcased artwork by the New York Academy of Art Chubb Fellowship artists in a ’white cube’ lounge, similar to the exhibiting galleries,” says Chubb SVP Laura Doyle. “As an insurer of fine homes and collections, we wanted to update our lounge to showcase living with contemporary art and design.”
So, the company turned to the DLN, which connected Chubb with San Franciscobased Member Noz Nozawa. Noz conceived of a bold, electric space featuring a graphic rug that nods to Keith Haring and a painterly wall treatment by Porter Teleo which served as a backdrop for artwork by students at the New York Academy of Art, whose participation was supported by Chubb. In keeping with the collaborative spirit of the DLN, Noz looked to Partner Lutron to light the space in the form of fixtures from the Ketra line.
This year, Chubb is repeating the winning formula, with Member Sasha Bikoff conceiving an eye catching installation for the 2024 show. Expect deep art historical references, bold design, and Sasha’s trademark hint of the unexpected.
