WAL L P R EPAR ATIO N •C ielo panels can be installed on plywood or gypsum board substrates.
• Use appropriate hand, eye, ear, and foot protection when working with panels and tools.
•M ake sure that the walls are primed, smooth, clean, dry and plumb.
• Leave protective film on the front side of the panel throughout the installation process.
•M ake sure the installation and work area have adequate ventilation.
• Store panels indoors at a controlled temperature of 65 to 80 degrees F, and away from direct sunlight.
•T o blend visible joints with Cielo panels, paint a 2” stripe per side (4” stripe on straight joint and 2” stripe per corner joint) with the recommended color.
• Store panels horizontally to avoid bowing.

Back (color) side of panel
• Clean the backside of the panel with denatured alcohol applied to a rag to remove all dust and residue. • Add strips of double sided tape at approximately 12" centers parallel to the panel length. The tape should start and end 1/2" from all edges.

SECURING PANEL Illustration #5
Adhesive 1" from tape edge on both ends
• Dry fit each panel with tape applied and liners intact to ensure expansion gaps are correct and that the panels and trim pieces properly fit at corners, edge caps and seams.
Double-sided Tape
Expansion gaps of 1/8" are recommended at each straight and corner joint. • Starting 1" from perimeter tape strip, apply a quarter-sized bead of adhesive every 8 inches on center throughout panel.

Illustration #6 1/8" Expansion Gap at Panel Joint
• Remove tape liner. Working from the bottom and rolling up, carefully position panel on wall and evenly press across the whole surface. The double-sided tape will hold the panel in place until the adhesive cures. • To help create flush panel joints, apply strips of masking tape across joints at 18” centers. Use two pieces of tape diagonally for areas that require additional pressure.

SIGNAGE/PIN LETTERS • Use only blunt drill bits for drilling through the panels. • Drill holes at slow to medium speed. • Never insert a fastener (eg. screw or nail) directly into panel. Fasteners and anchors must pass through pre-drilled holes in panel and fix into the substrate (drywall, plywood, etc.) or wall stud. • Holes up to 1/4" diameter must not be closer than 1/2" to panel edges. • Holes with a diameter larger than 1/4" must be 1" minimum away from panel edges. • Holes should be 1/8" larger diameter than fasteners to allow for panel expansion.
FINAL STEP • Remove protective film on top side of sheet and thoroughly clean panels with Vu-Plex (included in the maintenance kit - shown below).
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Heartland Cielo HP panels should not be exposed to abrasive cleaners, solvents or other harsh chemicals. Clean routinely with warm, light soapy water as needed, using a soft microfiber cloth or chamois. For more information or questions with your installation, contact or call us as shown below.
