Shakespeare published none of his plays in his lifetime. His afterlife is in performance and the printed word. This exhibition explores Guildhall Library’s Shakespeare collections and how they were produced: treasures on display include the First Folio (selected dates), the first collected edition of his plays, contemporary writers’ quartos, later editions of Shakespeare’s plays and poetry, and clothing on loan from the Shakespeare Globe Trust.
