St Marylebone Changing Lives
St Marylebone Parish Church has been making and shaping community for 900 years, a place of worship, a marker of life events and a provider of education, support and health care. Today, it is a living community of faith which still works to sustain those in need and acts as a catalyst for change. St Marylebone Changing Lives will tell the story of Marylebone “the great city north of Oxford Street”, to which the parish church gave its name in the early fifteenth century. Long-overdue essential repairs and much-needed conservation work will focus on the parish church’s Grade-1 listed architecture, whilst the creation of a new and fullyaccessible community meeting space with a café will offer an intriguing and participatory programme of historic story-telling, engaging activities and stimulating projects. Changing Lives will help St Marylebone Parish Church to sustain and extend its work of almost 1,000 years, continuing to build and engage with diverse and varying communities, both locally across London and with an increasing national and international reach.
