Véronique Gens soprano Julius Drake piano Originally a baroque specialist, Véronique Gens makes her Temple Song debut with Julius Drake with an outstanding programme of French song. Highlighting the passionate but infrequently heard Mélodies by Henri Duparc, the programme will also include songs by Poulenc, Gounod and Debussy.
William Walton Henry V Suite Simon Russell Beale Kenneth Richardson Director Principal Players of Aurora Orchestra Choristers of the Temple Church James Vivian Music Director Walton’s collaboration with Laurence Olivier on the film of Henry V produced a work of genius, inspired by the battlefields of Agincourt. The acclaimed actor Simon Russell Beale will bring to life the great speeches of Shakespeare’s Henry V, accompanied by the principal players of the youthful and innovative Aurora Orchestra, who are making their Temple debut, and the Choristers of The Temple Church. Please join us after the performance for dinner in the magnificent splendour of Middle Temple Hall, where Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night was first performed. Dinner tickets are £65 and should be booked with your concert ticket. This concert is generously supported by The Brian Mitchell Charitable Settlement.
