CHAMPION BERKSHIRE GILT, ’23 IOWA STATE FAIR OPEN SHOW MATERNAL SIB TO LOT 1.
Where do we even start with a gilt with this much punch in a pedigree. This female is a LITTERMATE to the Janssen barrow that was champion Berkshire in Denver last January. For people that didn’t see that barrow, he is the most memorable pig from our program to date (not taking anything away from his maternal sib that was Champion Barrow at The Exposition in ‘23). Another littermate was the Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt at ‘24 FWSS.
For people who aren’t familiar, Cricket is the mother of this gilt and is a never-miss. Without her, we wouldn’t be a blip on the radar. This gilt is one of the harder females to let go not because the quality she possesses, but the multiple undisputed champions that have come from her mother’s pedigree. We had many discussions that we would never sell a Cricket female again, let alone bred female, but here we are. Bid with both hands!
NOTES ...
Littermate to Champion Berkshire Barrow, ‘24 NWSS
Littermate to Reserve Champion Berkshire Git, ‘24 FWSS
Maternal sib to Fifth Overall Market Hog & Champion Berkshire, ‘23 The Exposition
Maternal sib to Grand Champion Overall Market Hog and Champion Purebred, ‘23 North Dakota State Fair
Maternal sib to Third Overall and Champion Berkshire Gilt, ‘22 Iowa State Fair 4-H Show
CLASS WINNER, IOWA STATE FAIR FFA SHOW
SON OF LOT 1.
FIFTH OVERALL MARKET HOG, ’24 SOUTH
DAKOTA STATE FAIR
MATE TO LOT 2.
We had no plans of selling Lot 2 but we know we had to have a highlight on the sale and I wanted that highlight to be a gilt that people would want to build their herd around! This gilt was raised in our grower her whole life so she is tough and ready to be a mother. When I ultra sounded her it was very obvious she is full of pigs. Being bred to For The Glory I feel this mating is going to be incredible as they complement each other perfect in my mind.
14-6 is a direct daughter of Orie! Orie is our lot 1 purchase from The Source (Team Sloan) last Fall and she is going to be one we are going to build around here at KBoysen Show Pigs. In her first litter for us she raised the FIfth Overall Market Hog at The South Dakota State Fair. Needless to say she was a great investment and Lot 2 will be a great investment for you as well!
Bred for immediate success!!! This proven sow that we named Prada, was Champion Berkshire Gilt at the Iowa State Fair in ‘21 and is a littermate to Cricket! For those who don’t follow our program, Cricket is the mother of the Champion Berkshire Barrow at the National Western in ‘24 and Champion Berkshire Barrow at the Exposition in ‘23, among many others!
In Prada’s most recent litter, she had Champion Berkshire Gilt at the Minnesota Youth Expo, High Point Market Berkshire ISJS, Reserve Champion Berkshire Market Hog MN State Fair, Third Overall Berk Gilt MN State Fair, and many Jackpot and County Fair Champions. In her last litter, she raised 14 babies and grossed $18,800 for our program. We feel the surface has just been scratched on this sow. Bred to WTX230, this is quite possibly the best mating to date. We are as confident in this sow’s productivity as any!
KING OF THE HILL X DIRTY SECRET X FORTUNE CROSSBRED GILT
SERVICE SIRE : POKE THE BEAR DUE DATE : NOVEMBER 20, 2024
This King Of The Hill daughter is the result of frozen semen being mated to our foundation sow. We made this mating to make replacement gilts that look like this and can withstand the test of time!
3-3 is tall shouldered, stout and built for spread! She has a unique pedigree as she has two shots of Dirty Secret. Her mother is a littermate to the Grand Overall Barrow at the Iowa State Fair in 2018 and we owe a lot to her as we have built our crossbred program around her.
Yes, Lot 4 may come with an older pedigree, but you can’t get anymore relevant interms of a pedigree when she is mated to Poke The Bear.

This January bred gilt is as exciting as any! This Disruption gilt’s mother knocked it out of the park for us last summer hanging several banners including: Grand Champion Breeding Gilt & Champion Purebred at the Emmet Co Fair, Grand Champion Breeding Gilt Northwest Iowa Showdown and All-Iowa Showdown Qualifier, Champion Overall Breeding Gilt and Champion Purebred at the Jones Co Fair, Champion Purebred Market Hog and Fifth Overall Johnson Co Fair, Champion Purebred and Fifth Overall Iowa Co Fair, and most notably, Grand Champion Purebred and Champion Duroc at the Iowa State Fair 4-H Show.
That powerful litter last summer was sired by Main Character. Naturally, we bred this impressive female to Main Character with aspirations to create the fireworks and excitement we lived last summer with that special litter!
13-9 is a littermate to the popular Ford gilt shown last summer and her mother is the blue gilt Kabe campaigned the summer of 2021. Her mother ended her show career as Reserve Champion Division 6 Market Hog at Iowa.
Lot 6 is heavy bred and will be a very productive mother. Being bred to Driving Force her offspring should have an explosive look as baby pigs and the far reaching pieces it takes to win shows!
Lot 7 was bred by Knauth and we purchased her last Summer as a replacement female. This is the second year in a row that we have rounded-up Knauth gilts in the Summer for replacementS. Doing so has given us a huge boost in our crossbred program, and has taken us to another level.
This particular female possesses that unique look and design and stoutness that their program is known for and still remains super stout and square off both ends. Seeing what Heavy Hitter has done for Kyle’s program, it was a no brainer to breed her that way. We are not saying this litter is a can’t miss, but there is no other boar that we have seen that compliments her better!
It’s hard to part with blue females that look like this. Back Drop has added the bone and extra substance we have been looking for. 5-3 has always had the extras we are striving to make.
She was Champion Market Gilt and Fourth Overall Market Hog at the Louisa County Fair. We bred her to Ruthless for her first litter this Summer. They were well received and are fortunate enough to get into great homes.
Lot 8 isn’t a big fan of the slatted barn and wasn’t sure about being out on the grass; but she sure showed off for the camera!
ON BACK X NOMAD
GILT
SIRE : WILD SIDE
DATE : NOVEMBER 18, 2024
19-6 was bred by Polish and has brood sow written all over her. When you talk about balance, build, and phenotypically correct, this blue gilt checks all the boxes. To top it off, with all her indicators of being a generating female, it is very comforting when you see Nomad in bottom side of her pedigree. To us, you can breed this kind of gilt to anything and you will never get out of bounds.
Bred to Wild Side, this litter is very intriguing and exciting.
STATIN’ FACTS X RAIN DANCE POLAND SOW
SERVICE SIRE : HEAD START DUE DATE : DECEMBER 12, 2024
This will be the dispersal of our Poland program! We have had a great run and have been very fortunate to raise many high caliber Polands throughout the years.
This Statin’ Facts sow has been responsible for a lot of our success in the Poland ring. Most recently one of her daughters raised the Third Overall Poland Gilt at the ‘24 NJSS and the Fifth Overall Poland Gilt at the ‘24 Exposition.
We are excited to see the difference she can make in your program.

KBOYSEN SHOW PIGS
WILD SIDE X NO INTRODUCTION X NEVER BEFORE CROSSBRED GILT
SIRE : MY INTENTION
DATE : JANUARY 14, 2025
This black gilt has those out-there pieces that are trendy but also possesses the basics that are timeless. She is incredibly shaggy with barrow proportions and is ultra-stout about here feet, legs, and skull, remaining square with basics in check. 2-1 comes from an incredibly deep litter that sold extremely well for us last Spring.
We have a ton of confidence in this girl’s potential, especially being bred to My Intention. This black magic is a granddaughter of the sow we call Big Momma. When Big Momma was bred to My Intention last Summer, she produced a class winner and big-time player at San Antonio!
Lot 12 is the last Spot standing on the farm. She is out of our most dominate Spot sow. The Salazar family showed 16-10 this year and she was named Champion Purebred Gilt and Third overall Breeding Gilt at the Louisa County Fair. She then went on to be Third in her class at the Iowa State Fair.
It is hard to find Spot females that are this extended in front of their blade while keeping substance and build correct!
A special female with a special pedigree in this 10-5 open gilt. This gilt we call Ching, was the High Pint Berkshire Market Hog on the Iowa Swine Jackpot Series this past Summer for Piper Zamastil. Not only did she have a hell of a run in the ring, her littermates brought the heat hanging several banners throughout the Summer including Champion Berkshire Gilt at the Minnesota Youth Expo, Reserve Berkshire Market Hog at the Minnesota State Fair, Third Overall Berkshire Gilt at the Minnesota State Fair, and many others. The banners that this gilt hung are obviously exciting, but the breeding value she possesses is the most important in our opinion. This whole sow line are generators, and produce winners at the highest level.
A great opportunity to own a female from our most reputable crossbred sow line and out of our most popular litter last Spring. Not only did she have a successful run herself, her littermates got it done in the ring as well.
She is a mate to the GRAND OVERALL MARKET HOG at the South Dakota State Fair; Back Points housed at Drake Hook’s; and Piper Zamastil’s popular Class Winning gilt at the Iowa State Fair 4-H Market Gilt Show.
Yes, she is open and isn’t going to have a litter this winter, but if you are looking at the long-term picture for your program, she is a female you aren’t going to want to overlook!
