MVP Prototyping
MVP PROTOTYPING
WHY
Prototyping comes in many shapes and forms. In this case we use prototypes to learn more about the personas and how they feel about your solution by showing them a ‘shitty first draft’ to support your conversation with them. Prototypes can be used also together with Service Scenarios.
HOW
Prototyping is a team activity: 1. Start from the Service Scenario and discuss with your group what artefacts would help you to represent the concept; 2. Build the prototype with simple and cheap materials, like coloured paper, cardboard, plastic. 3. Be sure to have enough materials available for the participants to create a prototype;
4. Do not aim at perfection: a prototype should also clearly communicate its ‘in-progress’ status because it is not a final version but a work in progress. This really helps to start a genuine feedback conversation.
EXAMPLE For a consumer electronics firm, the team used the Service Scenario Canvas to describe the possible different storyboards of use of new products.
