URBAN REGENERATION Continue develops from the previous module ARC413, the urban strategy has further developed in depth. With the aim of urban rejuvenation and preserving the heritage values, the concept of urban regeneration has introduced as an effective strategy to change the existing built environment. Urban acupuncture is part of the strategy of regeneration. Urban regeneration is referred as a process or action, designed to re-develop or transform the deteriorated and dilapidated neighborhood or cities, which seek to bring improvement to the living quality, economic of the area or provide new opportunities. Circulation after Intervention
A Network Circuit Abandoned and demolished shophouses are replaced and refurbishing them into new building as parts of a connecting system. Configuration of Courtyard & Space Interaction
1. Sequence / Layers This is develop from the basic type of shophouse. The yard is organised in the same size and repeated.
2. Centralized Yard The center yard act like a meeting point where everything evoke around. The yard is an element to organise the typology.

3. Progressive Yard The yard is different from the origin type which it can have different sizes, volumes and angles.
4. Side-array Yard The yard can be found on the original type too but the different from it is the yard could develop into vertical yard and strong sbility for organizing space without occupied major space.
5. Terrace Yard / Facade A buffer zone on the existing facade is added as a terrace as well as a new facade treatment.
6. Reverse Yard / Internal When all the interaction is happening inside and having intimate privacy to certain area like a community living.

Co-working is now one of the fastest growing sectors in the global market.The way how we traditionally work has changed in the 21th century due to the new demands of new generation, which needs creativity, sharing and exibility. The concept of Co-working is evolving to comprise accelerators, incubators and maker space. The programme not merely support the new start-up talents but also beneet to enhance the local business with new environment and strategies. Workshops, exhibitions and seminars are the major activities involved in the site, and sharing experiences and knowledge with the community.
2. Co-Living Space People nowadays are more concern about their urban lifestayle. Besides enjoy new working style, living are one of the concern for the workers and visitors. The idea of co-living space is introduce to promote a healthy “Live, Work, Play� in the site. Acccomodation are provided at certain oors, caters for the artist and maker. Retail, cafes, workshops and recreation space ar included to enrich the community. are
3. Urban Yard Public space in the urban area played a vital role in the society and city. The open space are used to promote interaction between community and improve the image of the city. The open space could de-densiied the compact urban fabric and reduce urban pollution issues with greenery.

4. Private-Public Relationship The sense of public and private are importance in dealing with compact housing development. The design of the project is derived from the concern of private-public relationship to create the space. From the diagram, Public access is open on the ground level as to promote permeability to the site. The upper level are reserved for the more private activities or living.
5. Flexiblility The programme are designed and proposed to create a systatic ow of activities, functions and festivals in the site. The ground level are designed for more social interaction events and provide diverse function on dierent days and time.
