ENI LUBRICANTS

HYDRAULIC OILS Hydraulic systems consist of a set of components filled with a fluid that is responsible for energy transmission with great flexibility and under controlled conditions. Hydraulic oils in this system must have technical characteristics and performance suitable for every kind of machinery and operative conditions in order to ensure good operation of the systems and provide relevant protection of all lubricated components to extend their service life. ENI has a full range of lubricants for excellent hydraulic and hydrodynamic performance available in several lines and viscosity grades to match all demands of industrial, agricultural and construction equipment.

Arnica

• High performance antiwear hydraulic oil, specifically designed to meet the most rigorous performance requirements of a wide range of hydraulic system and component manufacturers • Formulated with selected base oils treated with “low zinc” technology ensuring excellent antiwear, antirust and antioxidant properties • Suitable for other duties in which lubricants of high oxidation stability and lubrication performance are required, allowing use of a single product with excellent performance characteristics

• A high performance antiwear hydraulic oil, specifically designed to meet the needs of modern, high pressure, industrial and mobile equipment hydraulic systems • Formulated with selected base oils treated with “low zinc” technology ensuring excellent thermal, oxidative and hydrolytic stability • Recommended for outdoor equipment which are likely to operate in wide temperature range, such as systems where cold start-up and high operating temperatures are typical

• Biodegradable hydraulic oil approved by Factory Mutual • Designed for hydraulic systems exposed to fire hazard owing to the presence of very high temperatures, such as in rolling mills or other ignition sources are present such as electric arc and welders • Based on biodegradable esters with very high viscosity index and high flash point • Has an outstanding combustion resistance and an excellent self-extinguish property (spray flammability test) • Can be used for hydraulic systems of industrial vehicles (earth-moving machinery or farm-machinery) operating in environmentally sensitive areas

• Tilia is a “food grade” high performance hydraulic and multipurpose fluid developed to meet the stringent requirements of food and pharmaceutical industries • Recommended for the lubrication of hydraulic systems, plain or rolling bearings, conveyors and small gearboxes • Based on a careful blend of white pharmaceutical oil and antiwear, anticorrosive and antioxidant additives • Free of genetically modified materials, animal derived materials, main allergens substances like nut oils, soya oils and dairy industry derivatives

GEAR OILS Gears transmit mechanical motion from one component to another and may be used in open or enclosed gears. Due to the huge variety of gears it’s necessary to take into account of the many aspects in order to choose the most suitable lubricant including gears characteristics (size, metallurgy of teeth), operating conditions (load, vibrations and shocks), oil supply system (oil bath, splash, circulation), operating temperatures and other environmental factors. ENI has a compreshensive range of lubricants to suit these requirements.

• Gear oil with EP characteristics for enclosed industrial gears lubricated with splash or circulation systems especially where high loads and temperatures, high speeds and sliding friction is present • Can be also used to lubricate other heavily-loaded components such as couplings, transmission screws and low speed plain bearings • Suitable for use in oil-mist lubrication systems

• Synthetic oil for the lubrication of gears and bearings operating at high temperatures • The choice of a high quality synthetic basestock (PAO) and a carefully selected additive system has allowed to get very high performances with particular regard to thermaloxidation stability • Recommended for the lubrication of bearings of marine separators, gears and other couplings operating at high temperatures; the product can also be used in rotary air compressors

COMPRESSOR OILS Compressors are used to increase the pressure of air, refrigerant gases and other gases, through mechanical energy. Correct lubrication is important as it reduces friction, minimizes wear, removes heat and acts as sealing barrier against gas pressure drops. ENI has an extensive range of products to suit these requirements.

Betula ESX

• Betula S is a synthetic lubricant for refrigerating compressors, particularly recommended for hermetic type compressors (domestic fridges), open-type or partially sealed industrial units and heat pump systems that operate with standard refrigerating fluids (R-12, R-22, ammonia)

• Betula ESX is an ester based synthetic lubricant for rotating or reciprocating refrigerating compressors used in domestic or industrial applications; particularly recommended for hermetic, semi-hermetic and open-type compressors or heat pump systems where HFC refrigerating fluids are used (R134a, R404a, R407c, R507)

CIRCULATING OILS

SLIDEWAY OILS

Circulating oils are designed for the centralized lubrication of various systems of industrial machines: bearings, gears, etc. ENI offers a wide range of products, from pure mineral oils for lubrication of weakly loaded systems operating at a moderate temperatures, to higher technology oils designed for the most severe operating conditions.

It is important for slideway lubricants to have excellent adesivity and greasing properties. When the tool slides movement between machine tools and guides, it must be regular, through a stable and uniform contact, avoiding the stick-slip phenomenas caused by lubricant film breaking during their movement.

• Lubricant designed for circulation systems, oleodynamic circuits and air compressors where antirust and antioxidant properties are required • Particularly recommended for lubrication of journal and rolling bearings, crank mechanisms and gear couplings that are not demanding antiwear or E.P. performances, joints and wet clutches not for automotive applications

• Premium quality lubricant especially designed for slideways, even underhigh loads, with circulation and total loss lubrication systems • Formulated with high quality base-stocks and an unique additive package that provides excellent antistick-slip, antiwear and antirust properties • Recommended as hydraulic fluid in those machines, especially grinding machines, where a single oil is used for guides and hydraulic drives lubrication

CHAIN OILS ENI understands the importance of chain lubrication. The oils used for lubrication of chains must ensure easy penetration into pins/ bushes, providing good grip without any dripping. Such lubricants must create a strong lubricant film, resistant to loads, low tendency to leave residues also when operating at high temperatures and must ensure high resistance to corrosion and water washout.

GREASES Lubricating grease is a solid to semifluid product composed by thickening agent in a liquid lubricant. The most used thickeners are metallic soaps, organic and inorganic thickeners. The base oils used can be: mineral, synthetic, vegetable or esters of natural or synthesis origin. The combination of thickeners, base oils and additives gives to the grease its characteristics. ENI offers a very wide range of lubricating greases with different characteristics for a wide range of applications in a variety of sectors.

• MU EP 2 is a ‘multipurpose’ lithium grease, homogeneous smooth-textured in appareance and in yellow-brown color, with a specific additive EP (Extreme Pressures) • Suitable for the lubrication of flat and rolling bearings, also loaded, operating at high temperatures and in couplings with particularly critical start-up lubrication conditions • The ‘multipurpose’ characteristics of Eni Grease MU EP 2 make it suitable for lubricating gears and other components subjected to vibrations and operating at high temperatures

• SM 2 is an EP (grease, smooth-textured and black in color, with mineral oil based and lithium • The presence of extremely pure molybdenum disulphide assure long re-greasing intervals when this kind of operation is impossible or must be delayed • Adheres firmly to metal surfaces, filling the micro cavities thanks to its excellent adhesion properties • Particularly suitable for the lubrication of roller bearings and/or rolling bearings subjected to extreme mechanical and/or thermal stress such even in presence of vibrations
