PROFILE About me, I have recentley graduated from MSc Architecture degree in Politecnico di Milano, with high honors (La Laura Magistrale con lode in Architecture); following my BA graduation from Plymouth University, in UK, and my 2 years of internship in the between. I am 25 years old from Rhodes-Greece and I am extremely passionate about everything that I am doing which involves creativity under the influence of a great team-work spirit. My beliefs about design begin with the importance on creating environments/ objects/spaces, etc., which can relate to the human body in terms of functionality and aesthetics. The Natural Museum

Nice - France Master’s Semester IV - 2019 Masterplan and Museum Design dedicated to the city of Nice and located at River Var

The design concept of this project starts form the articulation of a unanimous masterplan for the whole valley of river Var, located in the outskirts of Nice, France. Carrying the name “Living Corridors” the masterplan is based on the idea of a green unification within the valley by proposing a linear park, a museum, public spaces and residential housing that ultimately, either physically or visually, will provide environmental links while at the same time give same importance to the anthropological impact of experiences and designed spaces. This is achieved by proposing a new Museum dedicated to nature, due to the character and richness of the context, which metaphorically and literally, becomes one of these green corridors by transforming its character into an inhabited bridge that hosts all the program and functions of a new natural museum. ‘A New Museum Experience’ One is meant to experience something unique and new for body and mind as the aim of this natural museum. It’s design, orchestrated by rooms of negative and positive spaces undulating natural environments of green spaces together with ‘hard’ surfaces, “weave together” to create an underlying continuous space serving as a mediator between nature and built environment. The museum works around and in-between fully planted gardens of courtyards so then, a dynamic landscape of vegetal and mineral surfaces allows the visitors to explore and express their bodies in various ways, from relaxing to exercising, from the soothing to the challenging.

Strategic Analysis Looking, at the way in which the city of Nice has been developed through the years, mainly focused close to the sea side and in-between the mountains, the proposed project will try to “bring to life� this neglected and unutilized part of the city. Drawing upon collected data, the innervation of green planted corridors, connecting the two sides of the mountain, will also aim at strategically enhance the quality of the existing greenery with strong sensibility about environment and species.


Strategic Materplan Through this diagrammatic map of the wider masterplan is revealed the strategy that the project will adapt consisting of the realization of the green corridors as links between the disconnected river Var. One of these links later on becomes the inhabited of the proposed natural Museum.

Focused Masterplan/Section Realization of Museum into an inhabited bridge and blending-in with the environment by further developing masterplan of initial strategy. Masterplan design proposing on the west-south part a water piazza filled with greenery and a linear park, where on the east-north part the preservation of the historic agricultural fields for production and hosting of external facilities for the museum.

Focus on Details The museum as an inhabited bridge is meant to allow the absorption of landscape and green spaces through voids and negative spaces of glassed gardens. All spaces inside within the interior are organized with the logic of ‘box-rooms’ inside a bigger room, the one of the whole museum. The facade of the museum is semi- transparent, maximizing the visual and physical connection to the surroundings by introducing vertical elements and a mirror glass right behind them.

Casa Vittoria in Pantelleria Pantelleria - Italy Master’s Semester IV - 2019

Interior Design & Renovation of an existing Summer House dated from 1972

On the Italian island Pantelleria, defined by raw beauty and rocky landscape, originally existed as a farm house called “dammusi”, meaning an agricultural construction with a vaulted roof, which set out to be the start of a summer house project back in 1972-1975 by the architect Lluís Clotet and interior designer Anna Bohigas. As the law only allowed to expand them and not to build new houses, the architect linked two dammusi into one house design. EXTENSION OF A ‘DAMMUSO’ The ‘dammuso’ is a very simple volumetric architecture, with walls of volcanic stone of the place and covered with a dome, very similar to the architecture of North Africa. From a ruin that emerges from the black hillside the subtlety of the gesture of the architect is well considered as the island’s typical ancient Sicilian farming construction becomes a typical arrangement. The program consists of a master bedroom, a further bedroom and the bathroom which are built on the same level, taking care not to interfere with the visual interpretation of the original volume. The living room, dining room and kitchen share a large semi-basement space that opens up to the sea via a series of balconies and overlooks the countryside over a rear patio, thereby ensuring a twofold source of light and the cross ventilation that is so necessary in this climate. The generous size of the terraces and porches transforms them into great outdoor living rooms. Concrete pilasters form a permanent screen behind which everyday life goes on.

The Proposal Initially solving the problem of vertical disconnection by adding a staircase in the only common point of the 2 floors. Rest of the renovation consists of an outdoor pool and kitchen in the 2 levels which aims at creating new possibilities and experiences for the inhabitants of the house in order to better merge interior and exterior space.

Section BB’ The proposal consists of the enhancement of the traditional built-in furniture by keeping the existing ones and adding new ones on the outdoor terrace of underground floor and on the interior of the leaving room. Kitchen and leaving room becomes one space by creating a semipermeable barrier the one of the kitchen. Now relaxing areas of different circumstances are created either outdoor or indoor and materials are preserved to original state. PRODUCED BY AN AUTO

Project Giardini of Venice Venice - Italy Master’s Semester III - 2018

The Reuse & Rethink of Bienalle Swiss Pavilion Built in 1952

Objectives of this project were to initially analyze and deeply understand the Switzerland Pavilion within the Bienalle of Venice and propose a program and complimentary design for the re-use of the structure throughout the year and not only in the active months of Bienalle. The Swiss pavilion has a strategic position within the park as it is localed very close to the water and the main entrance. By taking advantage of the main elements of the pavilion which is the intersection and connections of spaces, the proposed project is aiming to provide living-working spaces for artisans in order to be accommodated during summer and winter within the bienalle space. Boundaries will be redefined and articulated so that the exhibitions rooms of the pavilion will be used during winter time as workshop spaces for the collaboration of artisans and occupants of Venice. Ultimately as an urban impact the project of Giardini is aiming to complement the existing important ancient city of Venice, which throughout the years has attracted countless amount of people interested in the uniqueness of its character. In parallel it will try to give a relief to the dense pattern of the urban fabric by attracting people to the new functions of Giardini during winter. In terms of the architectural impact, given the respect that is needed to the architecture of the ancient city the project will try to enhance the elements which make strong bonds between the Swiss pavilion and its context. These elements consist of skylights, open plan articulation of space and different levels.

Analysis of Existing Pavilion The design concept of the Swiss pavilion is closely related to its surrounding natural environment of the park by providing skylights and open spaces in which two of trees were kept and became part of the design. The open plan design and intersection of spaces provides connection between the different rooms and eventually create a freedom of movement for the visitors.

Proposed Design Concept Aims of the proposed ideas for alteration of function and design, are focused on the addition of the living-working spaces as boxes of intersection on different levels, as was taken from the analysis of the pavilion. Ultimately all spaces become one unified structure located on the back and higher level of the pavilion, closely to the sea and border of Biennale for more privacy. A Water Piazza in Rome

Rome - Italy Master’s Semester II - 2018 Interior Design as Public Space & the Imagination of a Liberating and Re-validating Piazza

Piazza S. Ignazio in Rome is hidden a gem located in between widely famous piazzas and attraction of the Roman culture and history. Characterized by an unutilized space, due to its incapability to attract people or activities, we have been called for this project to revitalize its character. Used only as a mere of passage with no interest, this piazza has failed to meet the standards of the most famous and successful piazzas of Italy. This project then has focused its attention on the Roman tradition of the past with one very strong characteristic the one of the water. Starting with the identification of 3 commonly used piazzas around Rome, piazza it is noted the used of fountains and they helped to form the space and provide a lively experience for the people.



Proposed Design Concept For the enrichment of this historic Romanian piazza we are proposing a conceptual project of drastic changes in order to be able to imagine a new, fun and full of life way of experiencing the piazza. Therefore, our design utilized the concept of water within the Romanian concept and proposes a pool right in the center of it. This pool is meant to host different functions and events through out the year and according to the water lever people can use it in several ways.

Athens - Greece Architectural Assistant - 2016/17 9month Internship Position on the Architectural office Bobotis + Bobotis Architects

Bobotis + Bobotis Architects is an architectural firm based in Athens, Greece, an award winning practice (award: “Athina” of the Greek Federation of Associations “Friend of Museums”) which has a vast portfolio of projects in both private & public sector in numerous scales and types. I joined the practice in September 2016 and until the June of 2017 and during this period I have been part of the design team and co-working with my superior colleagues in several projects within Greece and abroad. My main responsibilities were involving assisting architects and senior staff with day to day activities, dealing with projects from planning applications through to construction along with carrying out site surveys, preparing planning and construction drawings (2D and 3D), liaising with clients, planning officers and stakeholders, meeting with clients and being responsible of design and access statements. Key feature of my role in this practice was to also liaise in a clear, positive and affective manner with colleagues and clients. Examples of the projects that I was involved with you can see in the following pages bellow.

Apartment Refurbishment - Interior Design Located in the heart of one of the most popular places in Athens, Kolonaki Square, is the site of the apartment that our office was assigned to refurbish. Given the prestige and high end neighborhood of Kolonaki, our interior design had to reflect upon the demanding location. My main role in this project was to assist the project manager and co-design, in a team-work environment, the interior of the apartment by meeting in regular basis with the client. In the next stage I was completing drawings of the proposal and construction in 2D and 3D format and in parallel doing inspections on site as we had a tight time frame.


Proposed Design Concept As a group of 4 we started working on this international competition for the New Cyprus Museum. I was assisting senior architects in the concept design, preparation of drawings, presentation of final boards and also the written statement of our proposal. The demand for more space in order to exhibit all new archaeological finds raised the need for the New Cyprus Museum and we have responded with a design which is purely defined by the 7 functional volumes and their envelope in order to emphasize on the 7 different main periods of the Cyprian civilization. All joint with a common central volume defined by a different material and by providing the ‘dominant’ natural lighting.

Palais de Justice de Paris

Athens - Greece Part Time Architectural Assistant - 2016 3month Architectural Assistance Position hired by company Epexyl for the project of Palais de Justice de Paris (PJP) by Renzo Piano.

Type: Courthouse Client: Etablissement Public du Palais de Justice de Paris + Bouygues Bâtiment Design & Schematic Development: Renzo Piano Building Workshop Location: Paris, France Duration: 2010-2017

Palais de Justice is a project that wants to serve functionality joined with aesthetics in order to embody the role of a landmark for its users and Paris community. Main element is the glazed facade, which reinforce the building’s message of transparency and ease of orientation for the inhabitants and the public. Strong element it is also the wood panels that will be placed inside the building and will give a breath of warmth.

Responsibilities & Tasks My role in this project begins with me assisting my supervisor, sole architect with his job of placing parts of the wooden panels into the building. In detail, I was assigned to complete the acoustic wood panel documentation, codification of wall and ceiling acoustic wood panels in the public areas of the building, of you can see examples of the drawing below.

Athens - Greece Architectural Assistant - 2015-2016 9month Internship Position on site at the project

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) for J/V: IMPERGILOSpA-TERNA S.A and designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop

Type: Cultural Centre Client: The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Design & Schematic Development: Renzo Piano Building Workshop Construction Development &Documentation: J/V IMPERGILO SpA-TERNA S.A Location: Athens, Greece Duration: 2008-2017 Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) is a project mainly focused on the enhancement of the cultural and educational virtues of the Greek society with the vision to create a framework for the future by staying true to its sustainable character. The 596mil project covering 170,000m2 hosts the new facilities for the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera, as well as the Stavros Niarchos Park. As one of the largest construction projects in recent Greek history the SNFCC aims to gain a LEED Certification for being an environmentally responsible project, considering that it will install 10.000 sq m of photovoltaic cells on top of the canopy roof and will eventually allow the building to be self-sufficient during normal opening hours. The role I was assigned as a part 1 Architectural Assistant was to assist and help in the construction documentation, as-built drawings and site inspections while being and working on site. Particularly, I was a team member for the production of construction and as built drawing, where the as-built drawings required the incorporation of information from the construction site to update the construction and shop drawings to as-built drawings. A great learning experience to be involved with just a high level of architectural drawings, to be able to visit the site at any point we might needed to and last but not least to observe the construction of such great a project by an important architect of our time.

Ring Ceiling - Opera Building The drawings shown here are concerning the Opera building, particularly the auditorium space where the ceiling (ring) had to be constructed. The ring ceiling encircles the main auditorium with a complex geometrical form which is symmetrical about the central axis of the stage and auditorium. The new sub-contractor had to produce missing section of the ceiling with the exact same shape as the partially completed elements to ensure the visual consistency of the whole ceiling, which also has an important acoustic role. To achieve this the existing elements were surveyed using a 3D scanner and imported as a point cloud into the Revit model. New drawings were produced and CNC cutting was used to ensure the new framing and surface followed exactly the form of the ceiling on the opposite side of the auditorium. My task in this process was to produce new curves based on the point cloud, that were used to produce the new steel framing. Articulation and observation was key to this part of my job, where the frequently visits on site helped enormously with the understanding of the task.


As-Built Drawings & Construction Details Drawings showing in this page indicate examples of as-built drawings. Our responsibility was to finalize those drawing by making some changes and submit them to client. The section shown underneath reveals part of the Opera building and the public space Agora and is one of the drawings I was competent to prepare for as-built drawings. Likewise, the axonometrics shown on the right side were part of a submission that the client had asked us to prepare in order to ‘expose’ all 5 levels of Opera building.

Drawings showing in this page indicate examples of construction detail drawings that were configured with all final changes in order to become as-built drawings. Especially in these Wall - Floor Assemblies drawings, part of my job was to change all floor skirtings according to instructions given by my supervisor and adapt all relevant information to the final drawings.
