Space Recilience of Muara Angke

Thematic Design Studio 1 // 2017 AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vray, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign

Muara Angke is an area located at Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, between two luxury neighborhoods which are Pantai Indah Kapuk and Pluit City. This neighborhood is known for its fresh seafood market and the grilled fish. People can buy fresh fish themselves at the market and bring them to the neighborhood restaurants to be cooked. There is also an activity center for Traditional Fisheries Product Processing (PHPT) which applies various methods in the production process such as salted, pindang (boiled with salt and certain spices), and smoked. The products then will be sold as wholesalers and retailers. Some of the salted fish products are exported or distributed to the other islands. Other than seafood products, Muara Angke also has a wildlife sanctuary on the west side. This sanctuary is part of the last remaining mangrove forest in DKI Jakarta province with an area of 25.02 hectares which is inhabited by no more than 90 species of birds. Unfortunately, both of the tourist area and the neighborhood of Muara Angke looks poorly maintained. 24

sustainable - flex(i)able - modulable GKS Final Project // 2018 - Luong Trung Hieu (architecture) - Desta Fatika (arcitecture) - Gho Danny Wahyudi (civil) - Nguyen Thi Van Trang (civil)

In this modern days, people are busy with their own activities. School and work make people become more individualistic and do less ‘real’ socialization, especially for people who live by themselves, away from their home. Socialization is needed so people get different view of the world from people with various backgrounds. Shared-house is one of the solution to maintain the socialization between people, which they can exchange ideas from various topics. As a modern shared-house, the house also need to be sustainable yet comfortable without forgetting its main purpose, to encourage people socialize with the other users. 44

DESTA FATIK A

45

BUILDING DESIGN

MODULAR STRUCTURE (steel frames and wall panel) The building is constructed using steel frames, allowing for fast construction using modular method and making the building recycle-able when the building is reconstructed. The usage of steel structures allowed cost and energy saving in every part at the building life cycle and reduced pollution. After the steel frame is assembled, there is no need to build a brick wall since the structure is constructed using modular wall panel allowing for fast assembly and construction of the house. In order to provide earthquake resistance structure, we put bracing on the structure. It can be seen that the bracing reduces the building drift.

Redevelopment of Wates Transit Station: The Face of The City Final Design Project // 2017-2018

AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign

In response to the increasing number of people that visit DIYogyakarta (DIY), the government build a new bigger airport in Kulon Progo called New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) as Adisutjipto airport has been overloaded for a while. Due to the location that is not in the main city, the lack of sufficient transport to reach the airport becomes one of the main problem. As the solution, the government improve several transport-related facilities, and train is one of them. Train is one of the most effective transport to move from and to destination within medium to far distance. Transit Oriented Development Corridor (Temon - Prambanan line) is planned to support the airport following the transport oriented system that already applied for connecting DIY and Solo with commuter line (Prameks). Wates Train Station is the main train station in Kulon Progo within the TOD Corridor and the DIY - Solo communal line that has a big potential to develop so it will be a bigger transit station. Its role is also important to support the development of Kulon Progo which already attracts a lot of tourist with its beauty of nature and culture.

BUILDING DESIGN PHASE 1 - MACRO: EXPANSION The existing Wates Train Station is classified as a small train station with a capacity of around 50 passengers. Located in the middle of the regency with only around 20 minutes (by car) from New Yogyakarta International Airport, it is predicted that the number of passengers will be increased, and expanding the waiting area will be needed. The new capacity for the waiting area will refer to the planned NYIA capacity, which is around 7 times bigger than Adisutjipto International Airport.

PHASE 2 - MEZZO: CONNECTING MICRO: ZONING Located in front of Wates Square, a new entrance built at the north side of the station to integrate the station and the square. Having two entrances will also make it easier for users to access the station. The zoning plan for both side of the station divided based on the station design guidelines. ZONE I

PHASE 3 - MICRO: DETAILING The space programming divided based on the design standard, zoning, varieties of user, and the function which is as a transit station and middle-class station, while the materials chosen by considering the local materials and the user experience. EXPOSED CONCRETE Utilizing Andesite, a natural resources potential in Kulon Progo, which then processed with modern technology.

Antapura Hotel

Architecture Design Studio 5 // 2016 AutoCAD, Revit 2016, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign

The hotel site is located at Jl. Mangkubumi, Yogyakarta, facing the main road at its west. At the south of the site, Malioboro Shopping Street and Tugu Train Station located only 2 km away. As there are also a lot of commercials alongside the busy road, the noise level in the site is quite high. Despite that issues, Mount Merapi far in the north and the city skyline become a big view potential that can be enjoyed by the visitors. Antapura Hotel offers a soothing atmosphere in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city of Yogyakarta. The combination of the local and modern materials for the interior provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere, while the plants that in the building and at the building facade act as shading as well as air-conditioning. 59
