La ciudad de Guatemala es una encantadora ciudad tanto en la parte moderna como en su centro histórico. El tour inicia con una visita al Museo Nacional de Arqueología y Etnología, en donde se puede admirar una de las colecciones más grandes de cerámica prehispánica, piezas talladas en piedra y el salón del jade. Después visitaremos el Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena, donde podrá observar el proceso del tejido tradicional y una impresionante colección de trajes típicos de todas las regiones de Guatemala. Después de almuerzo, continuamos al centro histórico para visitar el Palacio Nacional de la Cultura y la Catedral Metropolitana, ambos situados en la Plaza de la Constitución. El tour termina con la visita del Mapa en Relieve, atracción única en el mundo.
Guatemala City is a charming city both in the modern part as well as in the historical downtown. The tour begins with a visit to the National Museum of Archaeology, where you will admire one of the most important collections of pre-Hispanic ceramics, stone carved monuments, and the jade hall. After the visit we will take you to the Ixchel Museum of the Mayan Textiles, where you will see the pre – Hispanic weaving process and an impressive collection of traditional costumes. Time at leisure for lunch and then we will continue to the historical downtown to visit the National Palace of Culture and the Metropolitan Cathedral, both located at the Constitution Square. The tour ends with the visit of the Relief Map, a unique attraction in the world.

ANTIGUA GUATEMALA Antigua Guatemala, ciudad colonial declarada por UNESCO "Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad”. Caminar en la Antigua es como caminar hacia el pasado... calles empedradas, buganvilias cayendo por paredes en ruinas, colores pastel en las paredes, con balcones característicos, bajo techos de teja, parques con fuentes y un espectacular paisaje a las faldas de tres volcanes: Agua, Fuego & Acatenango. Estas son algunas razones por las que “La Antigua” es una de las ciudades coloniales más bellas en las Américas. Antigua fue fundada en 1543 como la capital de Guatemala y floreció durante el siglo 17 y 18. El terremoto de 1773 destruyó la ciudad y la capital se traslado a la ubicación actual en Ciudad de Guatemala. El área principal de Antigua es el Parque Central rodeado por la Catedral, el Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, la Municipalidad y el Portal de las Panaderas. Otros monumentos famosos de la ciudad son el Arco de Santa Catarina y la Iglesia la Merced, un maravilloso ejemplo del arte barroco de Antigua.
Antigua Guatemala, one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. “Exploring Antigua is like stepping back in time … cobbled stone streets, sprays of bougainvillea bursting from crumbling ruins, pastel façades under terracotta roofs, parks with fountains … amidst a dramatic setting surrounded by three volcanoes, Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.” These are some of the reasons why Antigua was declared by UNESCO a “Cultural Heritage of Humankind”. Antigua was founded on 1543 as the original capital of Guatemala, and flourished during the 17th and 18th centuries. Unfortunately, an earthquake destroyed it in 1773 and the capital was transferred to its present location. Presentday Antigua´s focal point is the lovely Parque Central, surrounded by the Cathedral, the Captain-Generals Palace, the City Hall and the Portal de las Panaderas. Another famous landmark is the Santa Catarina Arch and La Merced Church and Convent, a wonderful example of baroque art in Antigua.
ANTIGUA (Centro Histórico y Finca de Café) ANTIGUA (Historic Centre and Coffee Farm) El recorrido empieza saliendo desde Ciudad de Guatemala hacia Antigua Guatemala. Iniciamos en el Centro Cultural La Azotea, donde disfrutará de una visita guiada en la finca de café y del Museo de Música Maya Tradicional K’Ojom. Después de saborear una taza del mejor café de Antigua, visitaremos el Centro Histórico de Antigua iniciando en el Parque Central y visitando los principales monumentos de la ciudad. Por la tarde regreso al hotel en Ciudad de Guatemala.
We start the day traveling from Guatemala City to Antigua Guatemala. We start at the Centro Cultural La Azotea, where you will enjoy a guided visit to a Coffee Farm and the Traditional Mayan Music Museum Casa K’Ojom. After tasting a cup of one of the finest coffee in Antigua, we continue to Antigua’s Historic Centre, starting from the Main Plaza and visiting the main monuments of the city. In the afternoon, return to your hotel in Guatemala City.

Early in the morning departure via the PanAmerican highway to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world: Atitlán. In Panajachel, enjoy time to relax by the lake’s shores and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the volcanoes, or to explore the main street crowded with colorful handicrafts. Then you will take a boat trip through Lake Atitlan to the Maya-Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. Santiago also offers a variety of handicrafts, colourful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. In the afternoon return to Panajachel and afterwards to Guatemala city.

The Northern part of Guatemala, Petén, was the birthplace of the great Mayan Civilization. The region witnessed the rise and fall of this ancient culture that was a very advanced stratified society which lived harmoniously with nature. The Maya were excellent astronomers and mathematicians and developed a complex hieroglyphic scripture. They were also very skilled in arts, stone carving and architecture, and established a vast commercial net-work from the North of Mexico to Costa Rica. The fall and collapse of this great civilization is still a true enigma.
